HMSS Weblog now on its own; Her Majesty's Secret Servant is no more

The HMSS Weblog, established in 2008, is now its own. The Her Majesty's Secret Servant e-magazine has gone offline.

As a result, HMSS Weblog now has a new logo. The old logo said "official blog of the e-magazine Her Majesty's Secret Servant." You can't be the official site of something that no longer exists. The new HMSS Weblog logo has a different font.

Also archived today is Quantum of Fleming, which analyzes the amount of "Fleming content" in each film. To be clear: just be a movie has relatively little "Fleming content" doesn't mean it's not entertaining. And one film that has a surprising amount of "Fleming content" (Die Another Day, primarily the first half) gets criticized by a lot of fans.

A very interesting and worthwhile project there. :)

I didn't know that it was Christopher Wood who came up with the idea of using the LALD novel keel-hauling sequence in MR for instance.

Ironically, it's not one of the ones I did. In the very early days, the blog was more of a collaborative effort. By early 2009, though, I pretty much pulled the load.

I think that was a story about how the Lotus was found rusting away. Unfortunately, when the proprietors of Her Majesty's Secret Servant (the "e-magazine," not the blog) let the site go dark, all access to articles there lapsed as well. I've gotten many of mine back and archived them on the blog.
