    Official video:

As fans prepare for the November 6th release of SPECTRE, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM) and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release an all-new line-up of special edition Blu-rays, DVDs and box-sets on September 14th.

Two never-before-seen featurettes are included with interviews from Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. “The Shadow of SPECTRE” will recount the fictional history of the global criminal syndicate and terrorist organization, “The Story So Far” will provide an overview of Daniel Craig’s first three Bond movies.

Six films featuring the SPECTRE organization (FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, THUNDERBALL, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY) and the three recent Daniel Craig titles (CASINO ROYALE, QUANTUM OF SOLACE, SKYFALL) will each get a limited edition Blu-ray Steelbook release, their cover designs inspired by each film’s opening title sequence. In the UK there will be seven new Steelbooks as QUANTUM OF SOLACE and SKYFALL have previously been released in this format.

Or Bond fans can choose from Actor Packs on Blu-ray and DVD, with newly-designed packaging.

Finally, The Ultimate James Bond Collection will feature all 23 Bond films to date, together in a Blu-ray box-set. The package includes a 24th space for SPECTRE and, for the first time, digital copies of the collection will be included, (UK & US only).

Also included in The Ultimate James Bond Collection is a new bonus disc with the full 90-minute documentary “Everything or Nothing,” further bonus materials, and a pocket-sized book featuring the best posters from DR. NO to SPECTRE.

Why on earth would Skyfall and QoS be missing from Zavvi - bizarre!!

Good to see its not a Zavvi exclusive and that its on the official 007 twitter etc guess that means the rest will trickle out! Guess bit of marketing for SPECTRE

    Sucks because of the covers.....

Wow that does suck. If region free it pays to buy them from US instead of UK.

    Stupid decision

Now it's official that FYEO is SPECTRE-related but DN is not... ?

I agree. It's weird that DN is not covered in this steelbook release. It's featuring the very explanation of the very acronym S.P.E.C.T.R.E. by the diabolical Dr. No!

Then again, I have always enjoyed watching FYEO straight after OHMSS. It seems to be a more natural follow-up/sequel to OHMSS. And obviously it has Blofeld's final hours alive. His death being rather, uhmmm, cheesy though :-P.

Wow. Wow wow wow. I'm going to be so broke when these release. I can't help it, I hardly ever double dip, but these are beautiful. Best Buy has them for the US for $12.99 a piece. I'll absolutely pick all of them up.

Surely they selected them at random

Are the US likely to be region free? Were the 50th box set region free? I don't fancy buying from UK if missing several from the collection.

So Germany and the USA are getting Quantum of Solace and Skyfall. That's a bit annoying. The press release said that the UK already got those two movies in steelbook format. I know about Skyfall as I got that one from Amazon, but when was Quantum of Solace released in steelbook in the UK? I suppose there must be some exclusivity agreement that prevents the release of those two. Shame.

I think there was a QoS DVD steelbook and using that as an excuse even though not HD!!

Just buy them from Germany ;-). Usually steelbooks are fully international and region-free. Translated titles are only used as paper stickers....which you can remove :-).

Best Buy has them listed as "Coming Soon." As soon as those bad boys are up for pre-order, they're mine.

Should've been included in this collection if they're doing movies featuring SPECTRE.

:O. You made it? Or is it added!!?!!?

By the way, I think I'll wait a bit until I can pre-order them from BestBuy. It's way cheaper, especially now with the weak Euro

    For all 9 steelbooks on BestBuy you pay: 9 X $12,99 = $116,91 = €106,87
And for the 7 steelbooks on Zavvi you pay: €167,69

I find that quite a huge difference. Even with extra delivery costs, I reckon the steelbooks from BestBuy are way cheaper.

So, now the big question: Which of these 12 steelbooks do you like most (If you include the previously released steelbooks from GF, GE and SF)?

My favourite is the CR one. Absolutely astonishing main title design.
Then perhaps the FRWL-one, though I also love the GF-steelbook
And after that FYEO and GE are beautiful. And the simplicity of TB is wonderful too

They are getting a bit of a hammering online with regards to the design but I really like them!!!!

Don't forget: The titles still can be beautifully embossed in the steel. That's something you can't see just yet. And the GF-steelbook has partially shiny fonts, printed over a matted poster design.

Ok, if possible I'll be ordering the other two from Germany. Can anyone confirm if Amazon.de is selling them? Thanks.

Trust me, "SPECTRE" will be released in steelbook too. Nowadays all big blockbusters are being released on steelbook as well.

Cheers EON. Amazing packaging, some new extras, Everything or Nothing disc included, a book of posters. Really good of you to actually make some effort for the double dip compared to the uninspired, shoddy box set you palmed off on us for the 50th.

Fantastic as these steelbooks are, am I the only one who feels like we are being scammed here? Why couldn't they release these amazing designs for the 50th? I would have easily spent £200 to have every film on my shelves in these steelbook form. But no I went and spent £100 on the exceptionally poor box set. And what's the betting they still haven't fixed the QOS menu so it matches the rest?

I just can't justify the expense of double and triple dipping here. I've ordered the FRWL and OHMSS ones because I can't quite resist stuffing no money at all in Babs and MGW's pockets and that will do me I think. Would love the CR one but owning 3 copies of the same film (already got the 50th box set & the amazing triple disc bluray version) is just mental. I'll stick with my crappy 50th box set with no extras for the time being as I managed to get it signed by the late Richard Kiel.

Why is Bond always so far behind the curve in delivering what the fans desire compared to other big franchises?

And as usual they still can't even get the basics right - if this a SPECTRE themed set where is DN? Also by including FYEO does this mean they are finally acknowledging copyright infringement by admitting 'unspecified bald bloke in a wheelchair' is Blofeld in the PTS? Can the McClory family sue retroactively? Sure has hell if Kevin was still alive he would try it!

I think @TheWizardOfIce, this is due to the rather complex home entertainment contract EON Productions constantly need to negotiate with MGM (being a tiny company now, but still owning 50% of the James Bond franchise), Sony and especially 20th Century Fox. I think that's the real problem why it always takes a while.

I hope in the future there's just one big movie company, owning the 50% share of the franchise, and responsible for everything: co-production, distribution of the cinematic films, production of blu-rays and its distribution.

But again, I do think EON, MGM and Sony deserve some applause for this release. Absolutely stunning.
