Do you think that Dynamite will do two or more storylines at once? 007 in the present, Origins, Felix Leiter or another spin off, and a graphic novel adaption. Could they really afford to do a Marvel Studios approach to the comic adventures of James Bond? We know one of each is coming, but when and how much? And above all, what cost on both sides?
  • It's not uncommon for Dynamite to release multiple titles at one time for their licensed properties. What cost? I'm pretty sure that none will be priced under $3 US....

They did release multiple Bond comics last year. I don't think timeline really matters. Not in the vein of DC and Marvel comics, anyway, but they can.

I hope there will be multiple titles and I will preorder anything they'll release (as long as Ales Kot isn't involved)

    +1

They could get someone equally as bad, though. Cough, Nick Spencer, cough!

Would love to see Lee Bermejo or Tim Sale get involved and do some art for Bond, doesn’t seem overly likely though. I think Jason Masters is still my favourite of the artists that’s worked on these. (Although I’ve read zero of The Body thus far, and the art in Kill Chain was admittedly very sweet).

Bob Parker talks about Origins in a interesting interview.

Same here! Dynamite has done wonders for Bond.

Just reread The Body #1-5 followed by my first read of #6. Issues 2 & 3 still don't feel right to me and the art in 5 is still awful. The "reveal" in 6 on how events were tied together wasn't all that shocking and made me wonder what the point of it all was.

I don't understand how #5 leads to #6... "The event"

It was the most useless and worst Bond comic title ever released. I’m glad I pulled the plug on it after #3.

A thought came to me at work today. I think we could get two Ian Fleming adaptions next year. One in April for LALD's 65 anniversary and Moonraker in time for Bond 25. Either way, there will be new storylines around those times.

I do hope they resume the main James Bond title series. It's been on hold since May 2017.

I'm sure their planning something to announce soon. Eidolon, Hammerhead and Felix Leiter were future classic 007 stories.

I got to say, Dynamite has done a better job with James Bond than most of the continuation authors. Fingers crossed for a new present day storyline, Felix Leiter part 2 and graphic novels of Live and Let Die and Moonraker!

Yes, but Hammerhead and Felix Leiter are both spinoffs. VARGR, Eidolon and Black Box are among the main James Bond run.

I see what your saying and I respect that. I just think that Dynamite's plans didn't go the way they wanted to. On the whole, their all just James Bond adventures, in Dynamite Comics style.

That Spin off/Main run seperation makes no sense. Kill Chain feels like a follow up to Hammerhead, as much as Eidolon to Vargr. If anything, Diggles storys should have been considered main run.
To me they are all main run, if anything, you can look at Felix as a Spin off. But in Germany its labeled Vol. 4, implying that they are all part of one continuous run, which makes the most sense to me.
  • As I keep saying on this thread: try to understand how the comics specialty market works. Issue #1 of any title routinely outsells issues # 2, 3, etc. Blame the collector's mentality if you must but understand that Dynamite is in the business of selling as many comics as possible...and the market that they're selling in is going to buy more copies of James Bond 007: Black Box #1 than they would of JB 007 #21 (Black Box Part 1 of 6) so that's the way it's going to be packaged & presented.

Looks like it's simply called 'James Bond 007',
It will be in the same continuity as the other Dynamite titles though, as Greg confirmed on Twitter

Good. The mainstream Bond run is back on track. Good. Good.

This tweet from NateCosby is also very interesting:

I take it that the first 6 part series will be called Oddjob?

"Exploring the character of Oddjob was the first idea that came to Mr. Pak’s mind when the opportunity to write this Bond series came along. "

Should be a lot of fun. I can't wait!

I know! First Pussy Galore in Trigger Mortis, now Oddjob. Who next? Goldfinger, 006 Alec, Jaws, Blofeld? The opinions are limitless!
