@BondJasonBond006 yes I hope enjoy it as well.

I really would like your take on the series. I appreciate your opinion.

    Ditto for @bondjames ..

Has anyone who has read these think they're any good? Are they as good as the Titan reprints because I have really been enjoying Horak and Lawrence's work for the most part.

Referring to Vargr? Yes I enjoyed it. Bond is far more lethal and "Flemingish" than Craig's last two films. Very nice contemporary take that's true to Fleming.

Bond isn't related to any of the villains. No personal vendetta until the bad guys push Bond to go medieval in the last issue of the arc.

I wouldn't really compare them to the Titan reprints since those were completely different variation of comics (strips) than what essential comic books are. You'll find that they are consecutive ongoing magazine type of adventures telling you a story with 25 pages per issue. But, if you're rather impatient to getting deep into the story, then wait for the complete edition to come out, which would be in the vein of a graphic novel, much like Eclipse/Dark Horse's takes on James Bond comic books.

I'm in imaginary mode again. Casting this time.

I added a romance date night right before the warehouse scene though ...adds nothing but expands the role of the female Berlin agent. She is later killed by Masters of course.

Also added a barge crane to flip the Bentley to avoid comparison to SP.

    Ok cast.

    Bond now is Jack Hutson
    M Sir Ben Kinsley

    Keeping Harris ...@ClarkDevlin's Tanner suggestion.

    Mark Rylan as Q.

Well, @mcdonbb, Tanner is indeed the Vision of the MI-6. ;)

Kurjak has to be played by a strong enough actor to pull off his last scene. My original imaginary casting doesn't work now for me.

Goran Visnjic doesn't work? Alternatively, we could put Jesper Christensen in the role, too. Even Masters saw the resemblance between the actor and his interpretation of Kurjak. What do you think?

I see the resemblance but I was thinking more gen x ...selfish lost child of the nineties ..

Maybe Cillian Murphy I think is his name. Kind of a creepy actor if I have the name right.

Oh Google Juu kun do ...it's a real life gunkata fighting style

You mean Jeet Kune Doo? Bruce Lee's creation?

As for Cillian Murphy, I think he's too American for Kurjak.

Maybe so ...my thought too. And no this is a new fighting style based on gunkata... developed by an IFC fighter.

Similar to Christensen..how about Jacek Koman?

New crew choices ...(yes double post but no one is posting here anyway.)

    Second Unit Director John Mahaffie
    Director of Photography Frank Griebe

Yes, both worked on The International but that wasn't why I picked. I read a Mahaffie interview that impressed me and Griebe was an old @bondjames recommendation on another thread.

    Back to score ....???
    :-?

UPDATE: How about Sam Redford as Masters? Maybe tad older but what do you think?

@ClarkDevlin have you seen any Eidolon previews? We're about half a month away.

Also hoping the collected Vargr brings in new fans too.

@mcdonbb, sadly nothing as of yet, mate. I think they'll release the preview pictures only a week before the release.

As for The VARGR Full Edition, it'll be coming with a few brand new artworks from the development stages so that might be intriguing.

Here is a fan in waiting, it should be out in 6 weeks. I've never completely read a Bond comic before, because I found the art mediocre, but you guys here got me interested in the Ellis/Warren effort.

The art inside is too safe, if you know what I mean. But, the story is worth it.

    Enjoy it, old chap! ;)

Special thanks to @mcdonbb for the alert, the third issue cover art for Eidolon has been released on Dynamite's official site.
    JamesBond09CovAReardonLight.jpg
    Cover art by Dom Reardon

    Synopsis:
Bond is sent to breach a secret base in the depths of England, alone, without back-up, and fully deniable: a place from Cold War history, with only one way in and one way out, while the forces of security services all over the world are seemingly ranged against MI6, and all Bond has is his gun and a few pieces of a bloody, dark puzzle...
It's set to come out on 17 August 2016.

    Damn right! :D

Proving more than a simple tide over between films though.

Ellis has written a Bond to date that stands up quite nicely on his own.

Very much so. Maybe we are witnessing history in the making. Bond becoming established in the comic book world, this time for good. Who knows, maybe this will be considered a 'legendary' Run in ten years from now, only time will tell. There is very little to compete against when it comes to Bond comics.
