i just finished reading Hammerhead #1 and enjoyed it. Slightly different flavour than Vargr/Eidolon but same Universe.

Compared to Ellis, this Bond feels a bit more 'classic', more level headed.
And i was pleasently suprised to see that the story takes us to my nr1 favored city to appear in a future Bond film.

I've read Hammerhead #1, too. I must say... This is my Bond. Totally utterly my Bond. For a moment I thought I was reading a Dark Horse James Bond comic book. Yes, it was THAT good!

I think Diggle is reserved for one story arc. The next one after Hammerhead, I'm assuming, is going to be Benjamin Percy.

@00Agent, the Dubai Arms Fair... Wasn't it obvious they lifted it from the GoldenEye video game remake? :D

Yes Percy is replacing Ellis. I would think Diggle was more of an obvious choice to take over for Ellis but looking forward to Percy's just the same.

Percy is replacing Ellis? You mean, he'll continue the James Bond title rather than having his own sequel like Diggle did with James Bond: Hammerhead?

Dubai would be such a great Bond film location. That and Ireland are dream locations for me.

That's my understanding from the announcement.

That would be rather good, actually. If they have installed two story arcs under James Bond, then the latter should be ongoing for as long as possible.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, I tell you, mate, as I know your strong interest in artery, comic book included, you should check out the art for Hammerhead. I had many jaw dropping experiences it sent me back to the days of Paul Gulacy doing Serpent's Tooth.

Serpent's Tooth as OTT as it is is still one of my favorites if not my favorite.

Mine too. But hey, that's Gulacy.

I regret that they didn't get to finish "A Silent Armageddon", though. And let's not mention the adaptation of Goldeneye that Topps tried to do (only one issue, IIRC, was published before the company went belly up).

My all time favourite. And I'm not ashamed of it. Even if Bond fights dinosaurs in it. :D

@ClarkDevlin, I love Gulacy. It's just so great that Dubai is getting shown off.

I mean, imagine if any of this was the basis for an action sequence in a Bond film:

Well part 2 I think features sharks so maybe we'll get a 2D sequence for now.

Serpent's Tooth or Permission To Die? I have enjoyed re-reading both. but I would just about give the edge to Serpent's Tooth.

@Gerard, indeed Serpent's Tooth is the most brilliant James Bond comic to date. Another splendid shot from my scanned gallery.

And by the way, I was speaking to a friend of mine who has been in the comics publishing industry before as well as the film business. And he said that Dynamite has access to all of the Bond materials apart from adaptations based on the Eon film series (like For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, Licence To Kill and GoldenEye). A Silent Armageddon is very likely to be published in its fullest someday, and most likely as a graphic novel rather than issue-per-issue comic book.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, indeed mate. So far, the Dubai sequence has that blue-ish look and like @mcdonbb said, Issue #2 might feature those underwater elements and underground tunnels beneath the bay where Bond faces off sharks (as seen on the cover of Hammerhead #2). The Dubai sequence is still to be continued...

@dragonsky, to be honest, the Bond comics excite more than the film news nowadays. :D

Yes, and I'd love the music to be all cliched and 60s-inspired spy type as much as possible! :D

P.S. @BondJasonBond006, I'm surprised you're nowhere in this thread, mate... Considering you do read comics, as well.

Mmm nice. There's a pub in Houston ..well several but one in particular where you can get a Guinness and a traditional English breakfast anytime of the day. Used to at least ...haven't been there in awhile.

But I'm not in Houston now but in hicksville.... no Guinness for 30 miles :(

Well not that's not quite true. I could just buy Guinness at Wal-Mart but whatever.
