Oh Wow, no i haven't. Thanks for the hint. btw in the link it says that cover was drawn by Jason Masters, the artist for Vargr/Eidolon
personaly i think that all those books are part of the same series. I never understood why Hammerhead was marketed as it's own thing when it clearly kept continuity with Eidolon by having the same M and Moneypenny. Felix Leiter is already connected to Eidolon as well.
I am a bit confused about the contradictory marketing for Hammerhead and Black Box, but to me they are both in the same continuity and main series. no reason not to be either.
i hope Dynamite can clarify this in the future, currently i have 4 seperate subscriptions on Comixology just for Dynamite Bond comics. A bit unnecessary
Very impressive and far better than that first one last week.
I guess if Black Box #1 shows up as Bond #13 then its the series??? Who cares as long as they keep coming.
Other than that, yeah i agree @mcdonbb, as long as they keep coming i don't really care. To me its all one series and thats it
Oh I see now ...and true assuming the quality remains.
I'm getting more excited about Black Box now. Ready to wrap up Eidolon but enjoying that story too.
I re-read Vargr today and wanted to share some thoughts.
I had a great time reading it all over again and really was able to rediscover how much i loved the Book especially when it was first published.
What helped a great Deal was the fact that i spend some days in Berlin beginning of this week (rather bad timing i must say) and now i can appreciate some little details much more.
For example the british embassy looks just like in the comic, and I liked the little Bits like the staff there saying "There are nice Bars in Mitte" which is true i can assure :).
Also, when Bond drives from the embassy to Kurjaks Place, which is supposedly located in Friedrichshain district, the sights you see as reflection on his window are actually on just that Route (embassy > Friedrichshain) and I am pretty sure that if i had looked in Friedrichshain long enough i eventually would have found Kurjaks HQ as well as it looks very detailed and authentic in the comic.
Also Eidolons last issue has a lot to live up to, because Vargr's last issue is still the best part about the Book. Its pure bloody awesomeness (literally) and a fitting finale. It's like Bond meets The Raid.
I have high hopes for next week.

Santa looks like he's about to crap his pants :))
Maybe Santa brought him a cheap bottle of Dom Pérignon 55 instead of the 53 :D
:)) perhaps ...we'll go with the team up interpretation.
You're right though Santa does look a bit tense ....at least Bond is dressed nice to deliver the gifts.
Although ...I'm sorry it still looks like he's chasing Santa for more gifts =))
"Operation: Christmas Cancelled"
"While enjoying a respite from his globe-trotting 00 work at his Chelsea flat on the eve of Christmas, secret agent James Bond receives an emergency call from M, who gets him on a flight post-haste to the North Pole. It seems SPECTRE's ominous No. 1 himself, Blofeld, is up to no good once again, not willing to take a holiday off. He has infiltrated the workshop of Santa Claus and taken on the role of the yuletide figure, using the holiday season to test some of his organization's newest gadgets of debauchery. With the workshop's elves at his disposal, Blofeld plants advanced chips on all the toys going out to homes around the world that will relay a sonic pulse that overrides the human brain, making millions of people of all ages his new puppets of destruction and slaves of sadism. James Bond must race against the clock as Christmas Eve gives way to Christmas Day if he plans to stop Blofeld's latest scheme and save untold millions from the maniacal villain's mind control."
(spoiler tagged just in case...)
Those first two pages scream Bond movie opening. I pictured the gunbarrel opening up on the shot of the moon, as the black shape sailed past, then when Bond removes his mask, I could hear a quick blast of the Bond theme, in the back of my mind. Bond himself, like in VARGR, isn't based on any Bond, he just fits the tall dark and handsome template, and he's got that ruthless streak just like in VARGR as well. When Victoria Hunt showed up, I began thinking of a movie adaption, and the name that popped into my head was Alice Eve (with Richard Armitage as Bond). Even though he's of a different era, Lord Hunt reminded me of Rupert Davies.

"Bon appetit" must be one of Bonds favourite phrases, as this is now the..... 3rd time he's used it. Did anyone else pick up on the potential reference to the Bond actors? Just before the Helicopter is shot down, one of them is in the middle of telling a joke. The joke being: "Three blokes walk into a pub, an Englishman, and Irishman and a Scotsman..." Could be a coincidence, but this being a Bond comic, I don't think so.

Bond smokes, and Morlands at that. Little touches like that that make me smile. Bond isn't based on any of the actors, and while his world is 2016, the writes have mined the works of Fleming for things like his cigarette brand, and his scars.
So far, I am really enjoying what Dynamte are doing with Bond, and I hope that the association continues for many years to come.

Black Box Part One – Whiteout
The next epic adventure for 007 kicks off in the snowbound French Alps, where Bond finds himself in the crosshairs of an assassin who targets other assassins. This is the first puzzle piece in a larger adrenaline-fueled mystery that will send Bond across the globe to investigate a digital breach that threatens global security.
Glad you like ...and wow I didn't catch that possible reference.
@SaintMark yes many thanks for posting
..another one looking forward to reading.
I only have the VARGR volume 1. The volume 2 of the comic is still not out right ?( the single issue comics are out I know but I only want the entire volume) what about the other comics? Which are "side pieces" and which are "main story" I am so confused from everything I forgot about this thread haha
Another six part miniseries titled Hammerhead is also out and the third issue was released earlier this month.
We have a six part spin off featuring Felix Leiter starting in January.
And Bond returns in another six part miniseries titled Black Box starting in March.
Planned but postponed is the graphic novel version of Casino Royale set in the 50's.
The other titles are contemporary stories.
Whew.... my fingers hurt from typing all that but yup Dynamite is building quite an impressive library...
:D ..thanks!!
Well there's a lot more than we expected.
What's Blackbox? Is it like Hammerhead? Is it continuation to Hammerhead? Are both not related to VARGR/Eidolon? And does Eidolon reads as a continuation to VARGR or?
They postponed CR? Dangit :/
What other titles? Edit: Oooh you meant the not CR...gotchya, for a moment I thoguht there were other than those haha
Yea sorry I meant all the aforementioned titles other than CR.
And I don't know. Someone pointed out that Black Box was numbered Black Box issue #1. I thought it was going to be Bond #13 so no clear clue what they're doing lol.
