Very interesting cover! What were the release dates for Kill Chain #1 and #2?

By the way, I was the one who asked Dennis Calero via twitter ;)

And @00Agent, thanks for that! :D

Man, I hope it's true. Check this guy out:

    L%26LD+Promo.jpg

He's apparently done a lot of variant covers for the many series of other Dynamite books, so it makes sense why Calero would be bumped up from cover artist to panel artist.

Wait... Where is that image from @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 ?
I don't wanna read to much into it but could it mean that Calero is already working on the CR follow up?

@00Agent, I found that image just searching Calero's art. I did find an interesting quote from the writer of the Dynamite Fleming adaptations, Van Jensen, though, who said, when asked what was coming up for him after Casino's completion (script-wise):

"My eye is very acutely trained on the second novel, Live and Let Die, at the moment. That adaptation is next, and the plan is to continue on with the series. I’m not certain how many of them I’ll do, but I’m beyond thrilled to be able to work in the world of 007."

    https://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/07/14/talking-to-van-jensen-the-new-james-bond-writer-about-casino-royale-and-live-and-let-die/

That statement by Jensen was made almost a year ago in July, so by that point not only was Casino written and storyboarded, with art ready to be made, he was already heading on to work on Live & Let Die with the intention of doing the books in order. If Calero does in fact have the Casino job, I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck with him for Live & Let Die and beyond, which would be fitting considering the art work above.

    Thanks @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 sounds promising.
I wonder at what rate they want to release those Fleming adaptions.
Once a year seems too far apart, also Dynamite has the publishing rights only for 10 years if i remember correctly... 2 a year sounds more realistic.
This, together with the Folio releases will bleed me dry :D

So, Fay Dalton's cover is for real... Quite different indeed.

By the way, Calero's LALD painting was in his instagram on October'16 and he wrote: "Never far from my thoughts". A real Bond fan? :)

One thing I don't like about Dynamite is their disinterest in having paperback releases for these comics. Do they not like saving money on production costs?

In fact, trade paperbacks might not be too far away. First come the hardcovers, then the softcovers. At least, that's the way it's done in other companies.

Dynamite don't go paperback releases for Bond, though. That's why I've had this little rant more than once in the past.

For now. But we've got, what, four completed series already ? And only two of them in collected form ? Give them time. After all, even the new Bond books have to go through bigger (and more expensive) format before going to pocket sized (and much affordable) ones. Witness Trigger Mortis, for example. So, a trade paperback will come.

I can only hope so, because otherwise I won't be buying any of these.

The effectiveness of his style will really be done to the colorist. I hope they set him up with someone who can balance his inks with tones that don't drown out the art. I really don't like the coloring of Masks, but the last two are much better and fitting for Calero's style. He's got a very mature style, so it's no wonder he got selected for the Fleming adaptations.

BIG spoilers about Felix Leiter 6# (and potentially beyond)
    You have been warned...
@ClarkDevlin I actually totally forgot about Eidolon at this point :D that was like spectre light, a bunch of amateurs really... This felt much more like the real thing, because 1) it was introduced with much more gravitas and mystery 2) they have given us this comic universes own Viona Folpe/Fatima Blush...
heres hoping that Bond will cross paths with them sooner than later (they would Not reintroduce Spectre just for Felix now, would they?)

James Robinson is saying he has a Trilogy for Felix Leiter planned, but by the look of it Dynamite has not given the greenlight on part 2 yet

I had some small feeling about the pressence of
    Spectre
in Felix Leiter. Japan and the victims carrying the dormant chemical toxin reminded me of YOLT. I really like the slow emergence of the idea since Eidolon.

I had low expectations, thinking i could not enjoy a story not featuring Bond as the Main, but Felix Leiter greatly expanded the World of Comic 007 and gave us a badass Tiger (who I hope will feature more prominently in the future) and other interesting characters like Alena, and was overall a very enjoyable and stylish read, and had an ending that promises much more to come

I kind of thought at the end, the Russian could have been either Gogol or Zukovsky.

very true, i was also lookinging of a movie counterpart. Pushkin from TLD would fit too

Not of such fan of the ending, because if Dynamite don't command a second Felix Leiter leiter, the story could be never totally finished. But overall, it was a pretty cool comics, even if well Felix always, but always, pass his time to devaluing himself.
But btw, did that make sens that Spectre is still active, regarding what happening in Eidolon ?

Why do you assume Dynamite hasn't commissioned a second Felix and jumping onto conclusions? Its author already announced plans for trilogy six months ago. If there weren't plans, he wouldn't have uttered a word about it.

    Thats a good point.
We never know what is going on behind closed doors.
I still feel like a continuation for next year is very likely.

Because James Robinson said "Hopefully @DynamiteComics and @olmancampbell will be amenable to doing more, one day, at the right time". The "hopefully" sound that it's isn't sure.

Trust me, if he hopes in his claim, it's happening and has been discussed. Otherwise, they wouldn't even bother mentioning it. Just like Van Jensen saying he hopes to stay for more... We know he's adapting Live And Let Die to a comic book script. Nothing strange about that.
