    About Origin:

What's the matter with period projects? "Classic era take a little more time" Why?
Maybe they’re trying to fit in to the Fleming spirit of things rather than tackling on contemporary easier Bond to adapt.

@ggl007, perhaps they are simply referring to the lineage the "classic era" or period set items have with Fleming's original word. Basically, that Casino or any other Fleming adaptions or the Origins comic that is going to be detailing the wartime events of the literary Bond's life demand more time and deliberation because the character being used has a basis in Fleming's original stories and because of that the comics come with their own expectations and pressures. Expectations and pressures that are no doubt more intense and substantial than those felt for the original comics Dynamite have made up to this point that haven't had a connection to Fleming and therefore don't face the same fan scrutiny.

I think there's truth in this, as I could see fans being disappointed by a bad Bond comic but absolutely livid if a Fleming adaptation was cocked up. When Fleming's name is on it or the comic has a basis in Fleming's original content I think the price to pay for screwing it up is higher, and Dynamite have smartly taken their time in putting the Casino book together with this in mind and have quite graciously given their artist and writer the time necessary to put out the best product possible.

You're probably right, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 At least, if they fail, they will have lots of opportunities with the rest of the novels ;)

From the looks of it, Casino will be amazing. They have the story already, they just have to decide how to present it. I'm impressed with the writing and artist team that Dynamite have and I wouldn't mind seeing them retained for as many of the books as they plan to adapt in comic form. The colors of the panels alone make these gorgeous, moody and evocative experiences that capture the kind of style I sense when reading Fleming.

Speaking of movies, has anyone done a "fancast" in their head of who would play the Dynamite series characters? I could see Elizabeth Debicki as Victoria Hunt and Morena Baccarin as Dharma Reach.
Yep! Some 50 pages back. :)

I’m glad you also see Morena Baccarin as Dharma Reach. Although, for Victoria, I couldn’t help but see Nicole Kidman in the role.[/quote]

Agreed, I always envision Hammerhead as this alternate universe version of TWINE.

While I wouldn’t say an alternate TWINE, but more like an inspired version of it, with elements of TND (which I love!). Diggle/Casalanguida’s Bond is definitely tailored for Brosnan. And that for me, as a Brosnan fan, is a huge satisfaction.

"Solstice" is next on my reading list. Would you guys say it's more Vargr or more the cinematic Bond like "Kill Chain" and "Black Box?"

Like I said, people don't like this writer Ales Kot for some reasons. I've never read any of his works, but the way people feel about him in general makes me cautious about The Body.

Hum... You do realize that Bond, in any incarnation, has fought nazis, neo-nazis and nazi-like villains before, right ?

Correct. The same attitude which has infected Marvel comics, has already found its way into Dynamite via The Shadow.

I was excited to get Dynamite's comics for The Shadow. But, seeing as they're on that same pattern, I'll stick to the old ones. As for the Marvel comics, they got ruined by that attitude I bailed out.
