    My problem with Predators was that they had everything they needed to make a fine film, but in the end it felt like a quirky remake of Predator. They should have gotten the Thomas brothers to write it & bring in fresh ideas like they did for Predator 2 IMO.

    I was aware of a few of the details, though found that article quite engrossing. Never knew Van Damme worked for Chuck Norris.

    Been a while since I watched it, can't remember the ending.

    Recommend Predator Ultimate Edition on Bluray to any fan, has some excellent documentaries.

    I just showed Predators to my Son and he said it was garbage. He said it overcomplicated the Predator mythos in a vain attempt to create new & trendy angst-filled version whereas AVP seemed to have been made by a true fan of the Predator & Aliens movies.
    I tend to agree with him.
    I won't even bother showing him Requiem since it's even more vacuous than Predators.
    So basically @SharkBait, we agree with your rating.

    I only saw Predators once in theaters when it came out and that was enough for me. My biggest issue with the film was that it ripped its best material straight from the original (to the point that it may as well have been a remake) and as with most remakes, didn't do any of it half as well. I might think more highly of the film if I gave it a second watch, knowing what I'm in for, but I just don't have the interest.

    Also, I found Laurence Fishburne incredibly, distractingly hammy.
