SDCC: Activision Unveils GoldenEye 007: Reloaded
    Source: Activision

Activision today unveiled GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The James Bond adventure returns with new gameplay modes, increased multiplayer options and full PlayStation Move compatibility:

The world's most famous secret agent is back! Activision Publishing, Inc. today declassified the existence of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, which will make its grand debut on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® for the first time ever. Built on a brand new engine that delivers striking visuals, blistering fast gameplay and the ability to play using the PlayStation®Move with Sharp Shooter peripheral, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is the complete James Bond experience shooter-fans have been waiting for and will launch in stores later this fall.

"We are beyond ecstatic to debut GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to the millions of fans who have been clamoring for it to arrive on Sony and Microsoft home consoles," said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing. "And now with full PlayStation Move functionality, 007 fans all around the world can play the game in full HD in more ways than ever before."

"Promising to be one of the most immersive and interactive Bond games to date, this is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation fans to experience one of the most iconic and action-packed shooters in an all new way with PlayStation Move and the Sharp Shooter peripheral," said Rob Dyer, Senior Vice President, Sony Computer Entertainment of America. "By bringing together GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and PlayStation Move's Sharp Shooter, we are continuing to expand the new world of motion-based entertainment appealing for hardcore fans and only possible on PlayStation."

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is a contemporary James Bond experience featuring HD visuals and realistic environments running at 60-frames per second, akin to today's elite action games. Additional to the legendary story campaign, the game introduces the brand new 'Mi6 Ops Missions' - new, distinct levels separate from the campaign that span the varied environments from the story and challenge players to complete different Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded also takes multiplayer to new heights, maintaining and improving its renowned four-player split-screen action and adding full, adrenaline-pumping 16-player online matches with more maps, weapons, characters and game modes than ever before.

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will arrive in stores this fall and is being developed by Eurocom under license from EON Productions Ltd and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM). 'Mi6 Ops Missions' and a few more bonus then, sounds good. The average for the Wii version seemed to be 8/10, so this should at last be a good game and maybe the best version of GoldenEye, even better than the Wii.

    Really can't wait for this.

    Yep.
I knew if I would wait for an extra year the game would come to hd-consoles and that I wouldn't need to buy a Wii.

    Where's James Bond's archive footage?

And also, I won't enjoy it unless they release it for PC!!!

    not for PC?

i am not watching the trailer and i am not following it
  • Looking forward to it! I never tried the Wii version, but this looks to be an improvement.. definitely going to be much better than the mediocre "Quantum of Solace" and "Bloodstone"!

Man, if only I had waited until now! Oh well, who knew this would ever happen. I would have thought the GoldenEye games were finished. Personally, I think it's time to focus on other Bond movies made into video games. One thing that will bother me about this Reloaded thing is that since I play the online multiplayer for the Wii, I have this feeling that less people will be getting on, what with Xbox Live and everything. I really wish they had left it at the Wii release and been done with it. Well, whatever. It is what it is.
If they are going to pull out all the stops for this one, then I hope we'll be seeing some more playable characters added to the list! I'd love to play as more classic villains, and some allies as well.

I've never been big on first person shooters, but I may just have to get it. I'll have to see how it gets critiqued by gamers alike first.

I'm totally with you, my friend. No PC? No buying. Let them sink down to the hole (Activision, of course).

Yes. One of the biggest insults made to the Bond franchise and legacy. They should stop making more of the past films into games if they are going to take a big dump of the legacy of these films.

@DaltonCraig007, absolutely. It's ridiculous that they do it.

@Creasy47 and @DaltonCraig007: I agree with you guys. If they are going to make a past Bond movie into a game, then get the original actor and original storyline! Leave out all of the unnecessary action that ruins the original movie, like FRWL the video game did to the movie.

I'm sure Brosnan would have been more than willing to come back and help out with it. Just blown away that Craig is now in GE.

They can only use the current actor who is portrayed Bond, that's why Craig is in the game. It's nothing to do with not wanting Brosnan back. If a Dr. No game was made by Activision next, it would have to be with Craig.

That's the point ! I don't want to see Craig replacing Connery, Moore, Brosnan or else in new adaptations of their movies ! This is a huge insult to the legacy of the franchise and of these movies. I heard time and time again people on MI6forums say that EON would never remake the past films with the current actor - well, they did. This is why the GEWii game is very much a huge insult to the Bond legacy. It's like EON took a huge dump on the Bond legacy. Which is why they should never adapt past movies again.

GEWii and GE: Reloaded are an insult to the Bond legacy, whichever way you look at it. Maybe they are entertaining games, but it doesn't change the fact that these games are an insult to the legacy of James Bond, the franchise and the past movies.

This is not my usual Craig-bashing. I would have said the same thing if Brosnan had played Bond in TB, or Dalton in MR, etc. There are things you shouldn't do with the franchise. End of.

Funny how the ones who laughed at everyone who suggested remakes of past outings are quiet on the INSULTS that are GEWii and GEReloaded. These 2 games are simply destroying the legacy of the James Bond franchise.

I can't wait for GoldenEye: Reloaded II. That's the Daltonised GoldenEye. The ultimate personification of GTFOOTW, Daltons Bond + a Russian Tank. B-)

Personally, I'm kind of hoping it'll be a flop, just to teach the game makers not to make any more GoldenEye Bond games, and to show them to actually move on to another Bond movie like Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, or A View to a Kill. Those have some great potential as games and should be looked into, rather than sending out more GoldenEye games. GE 2010 for Wii was amazing, and I think they should have stopped with that. It was fine for a re-make, but please, quit while you're ahead! GE 2010 was sensational, so leave it at that!

They should have made a remake, an original remake.

It was good fun... But it is still an insult to the Bond legacy. I never once imagined that EON would dare replace a Bond with the current one in a remake... Well they did, and it is simply criminal and insulting. I don't want further butchering of the Bond legacy to be made, so please stick with original games. I certainly don't want Craig in MR, or TB or YOLT or whatever. EON is really destroying the Bond legacy.

As the title talks about "Reloaded" thing, so, why they wouldn't release a sequel, an original proper sequel that describes the enemy as the new leader of Janus Enterprises who is seeking revenge for the death of Alec Trevelyan with the addition of the evidence that tells another GoldenEye exists or Trevelyan has hidden it somewhere just before he died in the satellite crash.
