Are you sure you’re not BJMDDS?
:
To be honest if ATJ doesn't get the gig, he'd be really good in a role akin to Alec Trevelyan.
I might not feel as strongly s you do mate but I get what you mean.
I'd be happy if ATJ was Bond #7 over many of the potential candidates, but every time I've watched him in something he hasn't caught my attention or been very memorable. Perhaps that is his voice and, or overall presence, it's just a bit passive
Oh come on. Compared to some of these other guys? Regé-Jean Page and his dumb eyebrow raise would like to have a word. Dude is a plank of wood compared to ATJ.
And he's got muck in one brow.
And outside of looking good with a cigarette in his mouth, Aiden Turner literally has no presence... in Hollywood anymore, it would seem. And never had it on screen.
That's where I first saw him. I was going through a massive Beatles phase and I remember thinking how well he captured who the young Lennon was. That's why imagining him as Bond is still a bit strange for me because it's like John Lennon as Bond.
I think he's a little too old now.
Now whether I would be happy about both or either is entirely different …
Nolan I realize is just so steril in his film making I cared more about Reeves Batman then I did Nolan’s in 30 seconds….
And Johnson I have yet for one of his fans to explain to me why they want him and who he would be like….
When Craig was announced someone said to me if you like Dalton you will love Craig and the first two films that person was right… again I see ATJ and I am thinking maybe he will be like Brosnan maybe Lazenby but I am not seeing a real pull….
So when I say I believe Nolan is directing Bond 26 and Johnson is the next bond this is from what my gut is saying not because I want it to happen…
As for what I want Hardy is still young enough to do a back to back trilogy and I would take him over most of the younger actors mentioned…
The guy who played Pennyworth (I keep forgetting his name) I also like and would love to see 6-8 films with him
And Hoult could easily be my dark horse choice I like him but I understand he isn’t everyone cup of tea
As for directors …. This is where my American popcorn nature shows because usually people here mention directors who did these great costume dramas and I don’t watch a lot of costume dramas… I do Like Matt Reeves currently Snyder could be more interesting then Nolan lol really I want a director to give us the following
1. A bit of horror: the espionage world is a scary place and hell even the Moore films had Jump scares and a Proto Michael Myers with Jaws
2. A lot of sex: it shouldn’t be a porno but hey if bond is going to have 6 pack abs and make the girls in the audience well aroused… I should get my hot blonde in a tight bikini fair is fair
3. Exciting action: the films are action films first and foremost and I will never forgive Mendes for making a car chase through the streets of Rome seem boring
4. Good character work: yeah I suppose this is important but let’s not get bogged down in this ok .. I reluctantly put it on here cause the days of bond being a good guy killing the obliviously evil guy isn’t going to make as much as character dissections about good and evil sadly but don’t ignore the first three
I want a director who can give me those 4 things I don’t care if it’s Michael Bay or Jack Pretentious who directs 7 seasons of some drama about the French Revolution that no one saw but won a million awards.
So yeah my thoughts where do I collect my penny
EDIT: And just realised ATJ worked with Mackenzie on Outlaw King, another performance of his I should have mentioned.
I did see one of his scenes in bullit train that has me understanding a bit of his bond and what I could expect of him (the blood scene)
Again it’s hard to not judge him against actors that I would prefer (Hardy/Hoult)
But this is hardly the first time that I had my own idea of what a popular franchise should do only to not get what I want but love what I got even more
He doesn't have the action chops.
Love this fight scene.
Anyway, imo not a bad candidate depending on what they’re looking for.
Handsome face, the mysterious looking type, great physique, great voice, but does he have the acting chops? I could picture him as Bond, physically. The type a lot of men would want to be and women want to be with. Some guys have all the luck, eh?
Another one that gives me Dorian Gray vibes, based on the picture.
Strange, I don't think so at all. Meet Dorian Gray:
Never heard of him, but he definitely seems to physically be a very strong contender. I wouldn't say he's too young either: with Bond 26 set to enter into production before 2024 at best, he will be 30/31, so one year younger than Connery in Dr. No. As you said, he's definitely worth an audition.
I’d rather have a decent portrayal than a puritan one (that isn’t even that pure to begin with).
