I assumed this past summer we would of gotten the info about Nolan and ATJ clearly i was wrong ….
I still say ATJ is on the shortlist if not babs number 1
When it comes to Bond, I hope he’s this generation’s Clive Owen . 😏
I suppose the strikes didn't help matters, but my instinct is if Nolan was definitely going to get the job we'd have heard something more concrete by now. As it is he's not involved, and I don't think any director will be during the initial stages of Bond 26 (until we get to a treatment/script stage anyway).
I think ATJ has legitimately had a meeting with the producers, but I also suspect other actors have too. His name just happens to be the one that got leaked, and I suspect he's the most famous. Clearly no one's been offered the role (by this I mean invited to audition) and I think it's just a case where EON want to have a good list of committed potentials in place when casting does come about. I don't think it's a case where he's at the top of their 'list'. In theory such a shortlist doesn't exists prior to the actual auditions. At this point it's just about gathering who they see as strong candidates for the role.
As usual it's worth saying I could be wrong, but this seems to be the broad situation from what I can tell/when you cut through nonsense such as ATJ filming a gun barrel (which was clearly bs) or Nolan wanting to do a period piece Bond (which is unverified, whether true or not).
The Nolan 'news' came around the time he had a film out in cinemas - so take with a pinch of salt.
True. I suppose only time will tell.
Not really. Both the Daily Mail article and the alleged insider information on the AJB forum appeared months after the release of Oppenheimer.
Yeah, you’re actually right. Suppose you can argue it came off the good will of Oppenheimer but I think I had an idea the rumours started earlier. Oh well.
Like I said only time will tell. I think they’re still very much at the stage I described, and we’re not going to get a Nolan or a director of a similar ilk swooping in with a fully formed idea. It’s just not how these things work.
Got my vote. B-)
Story broke when it came out mate.
At the pace things are moving, Noam will be too old for the role when auditions start.
;))
I'm sure you're being facetious there but I don't think Eon are keen to have another George Lazenby on their hands. And I say that as a Lazenby and OHMSS fan.
Regarding Road to a Million, am I the only one thinking they're really pressing a lemon here? If I wanted to watch reality TV, I'd watch reality TV. Why can't they just bloody invest their money, creativity and energy on the next Bond movie?
To be honest, I think it's something that will cheapen the brand. Ok, so they don't feel ready to press on with a new film, but want to keep the brand out there. So why not sign a deal with Big Finish? They wouldn't even have to cast the movie Bonds, instead allow BF to cast their own Bond.
That's my issue with it: it feels cheap.
I think if they’re dead keen on a particular actor they’ll adjust things to match with the actor’s age, if this is needed at all. That said I think going from what MGW and BB have said they know Bond should be a bit older (and by this I mean in his 30s) or at least appear this way. I think the only scenario in which we’ll get a ‘younger’ Bond actor is if someone in their late 20s comes along and projects that gravitas and appearance of being 30+.
Honestly, I do think coming across as older is important. James Bond isn’t a 20 something year old ex-SAS agent, he’s a former navy officer who’s worked his way up to an elite part of MI6. He’d be slightly older even compared to other 00 agents.
I agree. Reality TV is one of the very lowest forms of entertainment for me. They might as well have pushed for a Bond version of Temptation Island.
Well said…
Reading about Casino, it seems they waited to get their man cast and then amended the story to suit Daniel's age, so perhaps they'll do something similar with Bond 26?
Because they don't have to.

Poor guy. Get him in the next movie as the villian.
None of the candidates would've fit really 😅, they're just players, just like some of us here being a member of a James Bond fandom.
They could bring back James Bond Junior and I wouldn't be as unhappy about it.
Piz Gloria: For Real
Imagine 😄. One man, tons of girls, the staff (and you can't really count them), and a woman with ears like an elephant. I would watch that.
It would be easier to just cast Gregg as Bond. Barbara could play M, and Michale G. the villain.
Very Freudian, 😂!!!
Nah, Babs is definitely the villain. At least according to some of the people here...
