True, but they need a movie star's screen presence. It's like what the producers said about Craig - he was a character actor in the body of a movie star (or something along those lines).
So I trust the producers to choose wisely as they've done in the past. The best will follow.
Agreed - Though late 20s still qualifies.
I think that it will be a big year for Jacob Elordi. He is playing the Monster in Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. He doesn't want to be a stinker in that movie and he is playing Heathcliff. He also has a BBC series playing the lead. He's untested as a leading man, but this could be his year. I've got really into AI images as well
If you want someone more tested than the only other option is Harris Dickinson. I've walked past him on Broadway Market in Hackney a few times and he is so tall and handsome in real life. He has serious presence and is a fantastic actor - see Triangle of Sadness, Beach Rats and County Lines. He has a Timothee Chalamet quality.
Also, love Jack O'Connell...............
You know something, now he has a *little* more age to him, I think Turner would be better now, then back when I first heard about him (ATTWN). There's still the matter of age, but him or Cavill, I would be happy seeing them cast Bond. A lot of the other names I see being brought up, look like boys, rather than man.
Good man and still after all these years you're still right on the money. I can only fully agree. Benny's idea of a 3 film contract starring Turner would be a dream come true, for any aficionado that is.
With a trilogy of films, he could round out his stint without aging out.
Whilst Josh O’Connor is undoubtedly a fine actor, would he convince as a naval commander recruited to the British Secret Service?
Strictly speaking I don’t think many of the actors could be former commanders. So if they want to go more early 30s for the next Bond and have the character be a bit more youthful, (and of course if it works and is right for the story) I’d say go for it. Alternatively I wouldn’t want them to cast a dull actor just because he’s more plausible as a commander or whatever.
Even better if he could squeeze in one last, a 4th film, one more for the road.
I know this sounds a bit harsh but it's James Bond we're talking about. Josh O’Connor has extremely sticking out ears.
If cast he's going to have short hair so he's ears will be on show all the time. He should get his ears pinned back. I don't mean to be unkind but he's got Dumbo ears. It's realllllllllllly noticeable.
I don't want to be unkind to the chap but his ears! 🤭 It's full on. ;)) is this too superficial? Am I being unreasonable?
I never really noticed! ;)) Yeah, I suppose they're on the larger size.
I read a GQ magazine updated list of candidates dated January 6th 2025 and it includes a nonsensical profile of Tom Hardy.
Here's the first nonsensical bit...
Eh? What? Hardy was cast and going to be announced on the release of NTTD?
Here's the second nonsensical bit...
Not franchise recurring roles? You mean like Venom 1, 2 and 3? No, not recurring franchise roles at all.
;))
It's possible GQ never updated the Hardy profile. It reads like it was written before Venom 2 and 3 were made. I think GQ couldn't be bothered to update it to 2025.
