The actress has said it would be “genius” move if bosses were to cast her as the first female 007.

I'll just correct that. Hold on a sec....

Seems so indeed. Everyone wants a piece of the big cake nowadays.

Although, this claim on that actress' part is definitely made for free publicity so her name would be recognized.

Has there been an asylum mass escape lately?
I commented similarly on the matter elsewhere and it was found offensive.

    +1. Mass escape clearly.

The trend is to turn male characters to female in reboots. If they want a female spy just make a film about a female spy.

    Stop doing Bond wrong.

Nobody says let's make Godzilla a giraffe this time.

Just you wait! 'Kong's Longneck Cousin' is planned for 2018, so Godzilla may be next...

But they did turn him into a female in that 90s remake I believe.

    Hugh Jackman.

While I wouldn't want to lose Craig (I believe his name was thrown around before Craig got the part), I think he could've portrayed a more cyncial and world-weary Bond quite convincingly. He's definitely too old to get the role now and I wouldn't trade Craig for anyone but it would be interesting to see what his take on the character would've been like.

Jackman is too old, too famous and too Wolverine.

All true. But makes more sense than a lot of the retarded suggestions on here.

And too fey, reportedly according to Babs.

I obviously didn't mean take over now - he's 48. But I definitely think he could've been quite a decent choice to follow Brosnan. He has charisma and a certain ruggedness to him that I think would have fit the character well.

Which, if true, is ludicrous. I do think that his time has past as a potential 007 but in his day he was one of the few actors who could have combined the charm of Moore with the brutality of Craig. Swordfish era Jackman would have been an outstanding Bond.

How would Bond fare with that hacking test he was given In Swordfish? :D

Simple. He wouldn't have gotten in as a hacker. ;)

Well, I'm glad no other names are gaining steam. The only other guy is Hiddleston, but like Hardy and Fass, he is starring in too many high profile things now. EON ideally like someone just the perfect amount of fame. Starring in Kong and Marvel isn't helping Hiddleston's chances.

Even then he was too Wolverine.

If that isn't channeling his inner Brosnan I don't know what is...

Poldark series 3 will air on BBC One in June of this year. It will provide another chance to see Aidan in action, for anyone interested.
