Why?
Would certainly be a lot of fun. Gary Barlow can play Q.
I assume that this is a joke. But if not, no, because he's Black.
In your Country 5' 10" might be short. But in the UK its average height for a male. So I don't really get your comment? Fleming had Bond at 6ft and slim. It was Sean Tha made the movie character taller and more well built.
Your views are at odds with box office performance and critics reviews, especially of Casino Royale. Its also a fairly shallow view considering his performances of the character are very Flemingesque. His ethic origin, physique, screen presence, charisma, acting ability, intensity etc are all perfect for the role.
Yep! They want the generic screen Bond but with a dramatic spin. That's the audience of today. To the general audience, Bond is just an action man working for the British Secret Service, donning a suit or a tuxedo, bedding women every five minutes and shooting his way in and out with a Walther PPK. That's what the general audience thinks of when they hear Bond.
And that's why they see a guy in a tux or a BMW advert and think that they have found the next Bond.
To be fair those BMW ads with Clive Owen are pretty great.
Still a poor criteria to evaluate Bond.
"and Craig is said to be a amalgam of Lazenby and Dalton"; who's saying this? I only read of you stating this opinion. No where else have i ever read this.
DALTON RULEZ™
As long as the chap in the BMW advert also has a strong body of work on which to judge his potential. oh that tunnel vision.
People have referred to Lazenby and Dalton as the forefathers of Craig's Bond for a long time. If you really look at it Lazenby already had the more human side to him, as exemplified by that final scene. And Dalton a brought that steely determined Bond ready to throw out the rule book and go rogue. The blueprint was essentially there, and not only that but in a 1999 Hong Kong press conference for The World Is Not Enough, Brosnan even said this: "It is formulaic - which is it's strong point but I also think it has a weakness. I mean, I would love to see one take the formula away. To give the illusion of it at the beginning, but then to surprise. If you can surprise and have growth, then you'll have interest."
Imho a great opportunity missed.
I'll put the blindfold on now.
Maybe, but Craig screams thug and henchman too on every corner. Patrice looks more Bond than Craig in SF's PTS for Christ's sake.
Not to me. I think Craig has rough Connery look to him. Owen looks like a meteorite in comparison. =)) Patrice looks like a punk kid.

ha ha...priceless.
We'll see. For some faces alone it would be great to have Aidan as Bond.
But as you know I am a fan of his since 10 years now ever since the first series of Being Human hit BBC.
It's incredible what this guy already has as a body of work.
