    @bondjames, I wonder if he'll get a gadget from Q called "Pinky Promise". :))

Haha @ClarkDevlin. He was truly awful in that film. This Bodyguard thing does look interesting though (certainly better than McMafia), and Keeley Hawes is an added bonus.

My interest in Bodyguard just went up 200%.

I personally like McMafia but Bodyguard has Mecurio as a writer so it has a plus already, Line of Duty is one of the best Police thrillers of recent times and no it doesn't need a U.S remake.

Keeley Hawes is definitely a plus point but I believe the supporting cast is full of great British character actors as well, hopefully Madden will be worthy of the material.

Have got it racking up and will catch it when it's close to the finish, binge it over a couple of weeks after we return from our holiday, off to Italy for 12 days in less than 2 weeks time.

Well, the first two episodes of Bodyguard have been riveting already. Looking forward to the rest.

That's good to know, I figured it would be worth a look with the pedigree involved.

    Any Bond locations planned?

Thanks, we fly to Milan and then we are taking in the Emilia-Romagna, Lake Como (Casino Royale) and Lake Maggiore are on the schedule as well as Modena and Palma.

I guess just Como would be it for Bond, we love Italy and have been quite a few times, Florence, Rome, Puglia and Sardinia and Brescia and the surrounding area.

Only done one of the lakes so far when we were in Brescia Lake Iseo not as famous as the 2 above and Garda but still utterly beautiful.

Talking about Bodyguard, why are all these dreadful actors proposed and the guy from Hitman is not mentioned at all anymore? What´s his name again?
Right, Rupert Friend. He looks by far more the part than any actors mentioned on the last twenty pages.

I'm taking notes from this, @Shardlake! Definitely want to visit Italy at some point, but don't really know where to start.

I hope you share some pictures from the trip when you get back! Googling those locations, it definitely looks fantastic. :-)

I will indeed, Italy is just our favourite destination, there is also the food and the wine, you can't go wrong.

    Great!
I really love Italian food; bad at making it, but still enjoy it, haha! Once read that dining in smaller family owned restaurants (in Italy) usually makes the better food experiences?

I'm pretty sure Barnes been mentioned before. I've not been overly impressed (something a bit Timothy Olyphant'ish about him) but he does have a certain style to him.

I had previously dismissed him after seeing him with Elba in The Take (aka Bastille Day).

However, he seems to have beefed up a little and has more maturity to him now, at least based on the clip below. He'll do the rounds for a while on account of this, no doubt. Show looks good.

Well Madden sure looks beefed up in these pics. I guess I owe him an apology : he does not need a claymore and a beard to look manly. That says he looks like a young Arnie.

I'm not convinced but because I'm a fan of Robb Stark I am open.

Have never heard about the guy before. Might be older photos, but he sure doesn't look 37!

I've only seen him in Westworld and The Punisher. He does look good for his age, but gives of a bit of a devious vibe. I'm not sure if he would be likable enough.

I agree. He's a bit short and like Craig may have to put on the muscle in order to be convincingly lethal if selected. While that's perhaps ok in another series, I'd rather a future Bond have the height and physical stature so as not to have to resort to these techniques.

There's a fine line there, that's for sure. The actor can't seem too likable, neither can he look too unlikable. Difficult to comment on Barnes just on the basis of the photos, I feel. He looks decent in some.

He looks a bit too buff/rough for my taste. If people complain Craig is not refined enough I wonder what they'd think of Madden. Although it is a different character so his demeanour as Bond might change this perception.

I don't think Richard Madden will get it, but it's nice to have a different name than Idris Elba, Henry Cavill and Aidan Turner in the media.

I know Henry Cavill and Idris Elba (obviously) have been mentioned quite often in the media, but I have actually yet to see many mentions of Aidan Turner, other than here on the forum.

Did you see Richard Madden in Game of Thrones @Ludovico? He didn’t have his Scottish accent in that, so I don’t see a problem in him losing the regional accent again if he was fortunate enough to be cast as 007. Judging by the recent photo below, he certainly looks more rugged than he did previously. He’s currently aged 32 which is the right age, but sadly only 5’ 10”.

I've seen him in GofT I'm actually a fan of Robb Stark. That's why I'm glad he's being mentioned as potential Bond and want him to have a shot even though I'm skeptical about him.

I keep seeing this mentioned with no retorts - why is 5'10" an issue when Craig's the same height?

I think the point is that this shouldn't become the new standard. Physical liberties were taken with Craig, but in general I think some members want a return to the standard template.

Fair enough. I'm all for it if the actor is great enough for the role, but wouldn't mind a return to someone a bit taller either.

Peter Dinklage is a terrific actor.

I don’t think Craig is even 5’10. They get around it fairly well by occasionally it’s evident. Check out the Body Worlds sequence in CR.

I think they make Craig look tall enough most of the times, but there are scenes where he looks a bit short; the SP tracking shot, for example. Stephanie Sigman is 5' 9 apparently, so that only confirms why.

I'm 5’10 myself, and I do feel short, haha!

I don't think Craig looks short in the films. absurd.
