I like Danny Devito and wish he would come back as the Penguin in the new Batman film or as a Bond villain there is a wonderful little film called Heist with him Gene Hackman etc watch that film and tell me he couldn’t still work in either franchise

I can't for the life of me understand why DeVito doesn't work that much anymore. He was always absolutely brilliant. In drama and comedy, the guy is a genius.

Haha. Hair or no hair, he's still a bit small for the role imho, at least based on photos I've seen of him in relation to other actors who have more stature. His hair style does look good though, I must say. It suits him.

It's good to see Devito looking well. I am due a rewatch of the earlier Batman films shortly.

I see a future for Madden in the MCU as 'Caterpillar Man'. Real tough.

That's an excellent film. Written and directed by David Mamet.

Gene Hackman. There's another guy I miss.

Damn, don't make them like that anymore. Great, masculine actors. Clint, Hackman, Connery, Bronson, Marvin...

And Madden has dreamy hair. This boy will not be wearing a toupee or getting plugs if he becomes the next James Bond, that's for sure.

Though considering the greatness of Connery, perhaps we should instead insist that every serious contender for the next Bond exhibit male pattern hair loss. Imagine all the fun we'd have ranking the various hairpieces.

"There is a rumour that Richard Madden has been signed up as the next Bond."
    "That's true."
"It's true Madden is the next Bond?"
    "No, it's true there's a rumour."

Like other members I wouldn't put much stock in this article, but the conversation about a 'next Bond actor' won't be going anywhere soon imho. We'll see more of these 'confirmations' and 'signings' within the next year I'd imagine.

Nothing will happen or be mentioned until Daniel Craig actually leaves the role.
I still think he will come back for a 6th one if B25 does well.

I agree there! Dont underestimate Barbara Broccoli. She was dead set on Craigs casting for CR, only went through the shortlist fo please the studio..others hadn't a chance!

Yep. She's definitely invested a lot in DC. He's her baby.

I think he would be too old by then. But if it happens then the next Bond is probably in his early 20s right now and virtually unknown.

It may risk the stated hopes of going out on a 'high' if he does that. To quote Xenia, "the trick is to quit while you're ahead". I suppose he could live up to his predecessor's reply that "that's one trick I've never learned". ;)

I could definitely see her pitching hard.

It’s a matter of if he thinks he’s got another one in him (he’s no dummy; if this is his last effort, I don’t think any $$$ or credits could bring him back).

Jerry Seinfeld did it, and advised Hugh Jackman to do it , bow out while people still want more.

Nah keep on going until the wheels come off
  • I do not know if this has been suggested yet, but I think Dominic Cooper could be an interesting Bond. He surely wasn't a good Ian Fleming, but I found him quite close to Fleming's portray of the character in the novels.

That seems to be the current approach and the approach of the Moore era before it. The vast sums of money involved no doubt help to sweeten the deal too, for the incumbent Bond actor. Craig will be a tough act to follow so the producers will most likely hold onto him as long as they can.

I hope they go with a different approach; I would hate for them to continue until it’s obvious Craig is past his time.
