Perhaps Chris Hemsworth is being tested or being groomed for the role. He's openly admitted he'd like the part, and is a popular actor with massive overall appeal to men and women.
Would allow EON to go back to a faster turnaround of films, if they got an actor who doesn't need a break, and made some films that were more fantastical in a similar style to Moore and Brosnan. Perhaps.
Would they be looking for another Bond right now in the thick of filming with Craig?
They would have feelers out there and will be watching actors closely I would think, but not much more than that atm.
They may have met with Hemsworth to discuss the possibility down the track.
I’d say he’s probably an actor who would appeal to EON given his age and looks. If they want to go back to a less serious style of film, then look no further than CH.
Agreed. Doubt they've looked at anyone beyond maybe a few discussions amongst themselves. They did screentest others during Moore's reign but that was when he was negotiating and there was a strong possibility he wouldn't come back.
It just brings it home that time (and unfortunate accidents!) wait for no-one. Barbara Broccoli has to realistic and not think Craig is the only guy out there for the part. I think it's time we had a new actor - we live in a much different time to when Roger Moore was Bond and he made so many films, it's the internet social media era and things need to stay relatively fresh (to put thing into some historical context, when Craig was cast, smart phones didn't exist! - that's how long he's been in the role!) - so hopefully someone will come along in the next two years and be acceptable. I don't mind downplaying my expectations. Wanting the 'next Sean Connery' is not a realistic approach to casting so I think we should all compromise a bit and hope the next guy - whoever he is, even if he's not the ideal look or height or whatever - is decent enough.
Let's just get behind the new actor - whoever he turns out to be - and embrace the next era of Bond. James Bond. :)
To be fair smart phones came about in the year after Casino Royale's release.
I still say he is someone to keep in eye on
Remember: Epix is MGM's television network. This very well might be a subtle way by them to introduce their pick to BB and MGW. Of course, it's EON who has the final word, but don't underestimate the power of the studio!
Interesting, yes. But he's no Aidan Turner. Not by a mile. That's a kid. Turner is no kid. Bond is not a Kid.
True. And the guy has presence, I'll give him that just by that trailer.
I like the small pockets of support there is around the net, for Adkins as a possible Bond. You want a Bond that can handle himself in a fight (whose muscles aren't for show) look no further. Grow his hair out a bit, a clean shave, and he's good to go.
1. Tom Hardy
2. Michael fassbender (1 film is fine with me)
3. Chris hemsworth
4. Jack Bannon
5. Tom hiddleston
6. Henry cavil
We shall see
My thoughts exactly.
In many of his photos he has a comically, crazed look in his eye, much like a vaudevillian stage hypnotist . Possibly he’s trying too hard to be cool.
According to the following rumor, Henry Cavill is not returning as Superman:
I guess this means he has more of a chance becoming Bond. How good his chances, hard to say, but he'd have no chance if he Warner Bros renewed his Superman contract. Cavill seems more likely than Fassbender although I reckon a new-ish actor - someone relatively unknown - is more likely to become the next Bond.
He can't act though.
