Who should/could be a Bond actor?

Saw some recent photos of Richard Madden on the Eternals set.....personally, I think that his star is rising considerably and he is probably the man to beat at the moment.

I'd be very excited about his casting. I thought he was terrific in Rocketman and had a sterling turn in his minor role in 1917.

I just get the impression that at 33, Madden is destined to inherit the Bond role.....I don't think his sexuality will come into it, as we aren't in 1969 anymore. Plus, Madden is likely bisexual based on press reporting. Which is no big deal.

He's a great actor and can do the more emotional stuff we have come to expect from the Craig era. But he has that classical leading man look - akin to Brosnan and his 007 rival Henry Cavill.

    Nah, too short.

All the listed candidates should be placed into a ring, last man standing gets the job. ;)

    That'd be swell :)

I’d bet Cavill would win in a fight then.

You know those fights are choreographed so they don't hurt each other right?

I dunno if he is a candidate for real. But, out of everyone mentioned, he's by far, the man. My reasons are because he's a solid actor that can do the emotional/grounded work and still be "damaged/masculine".

I don't care if he's bi or not in real life.

Plus, to me, he is more attractive than Brosnan and Cavill.

I was responding to the point that they should all be put in a ring? Cavill is bigger than the rest of them.

'twas me, and for that very reason, his physicality. From a thespy p.o.v* he might not be the most acomplished/respected (take your pick) actor, but looking at his physical prowess, he is superior to the other candidates, Cavill included.

    * People here have criticised Dalton with "you don't need to be the best actor to be Bond"...

But I'd rather have a stellar actor that can also work on his physicality. Just my personal preference, of course. But after Craig, I won't take a soap opera tv actor. There are lots of good actors with brilliant presence and physicality out there. Or at least a few...

I uderstand that, but after Craig, I want the next actor to back away from all the moping and emotions, and give us a peak career Bond. I know for a fact that Adkins can play a cocky arrogant character, without making him smarmy, while also giving off the right ammount of charm. It just so happens, that he acts through his physicality.

Probably.... Accident Man, for his best all round film. For pure physicality, any of the Undisputed films he was in (2, 3, and 4). I'm not saying that Bond needs to be pulling of all manner of flips. But to have an actor with that level of training, would bring the fights up to a whole new level.

I think that's just the Matt Smith similarity, but I think give him the right training and enough time, I think Callum could do something with it. I think be an interesting balance of Craig's Bond and Pierce's Bond.

Have to hear his voice. Bond must have a distinctive bass voice. A swagger in the way he sounds and delivers his lines. Can't seem to recall Callum's voice. Now Turner, when speaking with an english accent, has a baritone to bass voice. None, I'm afraid, will have Connery's or Craig's voices. Craig's voice alone sold me on him being Bond.

He has a proper London accent, but can adapt to a different kind of accent in other things.

There's about as much chance of Scott Adkins being cast as Bond as there is Basil Brush. The guy CANNOT ACT. He is embarrassingly inept at it. I've seen him in a few things and he's like someone in a True Movies production. Was this suggestion tongue in cheek? He would make Brosnan look like Laurence Olivier.

Say what you want, but I would still pick him over Dan Stevens (who looks like a pre supersoldier Steve Rogers to Daniel Craigs Captain America).

To me he doesn't have it. Perhaps like Craig, as in he could play Bond, but he couldn't be Bond. To me Craig still looks like a KGB/FSB agent. Being Bond is the whole package. At least to me.

I'm not convinced. Don't see this face or this voice as Bond.

Yep. The only Turner that works as Bond. Sorry, Callum looks like Bond’s younger brother at best. Aidan feels like the real thing.

Bond is the full package, now that is funny.

By that rational only Connery has ticked all the boxes because Dalton certainly didn't and Poldark isn't even in the running.

It would a massive no from me with regards to Callum Turner. He doesn’t have the looks or voice IMO. He’d be great in EastEnders though.
