Callum Turner looks about 12 and there's nothing remotely Bondian about him. I find it genuinely perplexing that someone sees any potential in him. Maybe I'm missing something.

I agree. I can see him as a petulant university "Frat Boy" or , in a standard romantic comedy, he would be the obnoxious love rival of the romantic lead.

You're not missing anything, I just see potential. I wouldn't go as far as 12 though, that's a bit of stretch, but can understand why someone would think he's too young.

I just think if we're gonna be realistic about who should be cast, we have to take into how long it'll be before it happens.

Callum Turner is just someone I believe has a lot of potential, and if he continues to grow into the actor he seems to be becoming and maybe loses his boyish looks a little more, I think he'd perfect. I think he's handsome, charismatic, a great actor, with a good commending, British accent who could offer something new, while in-keeping with Fleming's vision. Like I said he seems almost a combination of Moore and Brosnan.

But who knows? I just think it's a more realistic choice than some of the older, more repeated suggestions here. Sometimes I think a more youthful Bond scares people. I saw a guy on another talk about how nervous he is to reach the age where Bond is younger than him. I say give the younger guys a shot, you might pleasantly surprised.

Mark my words Aidan Turner won't be Bond.

This is a fairly safe bet only because virtually any actor could be substituted for Turner and you would be correct.

Like I've said before Jerzy and mendes can get stiff over Turner all they like but the current predicament pretty much rules out the majority of these suggestions, all bets are off and I doubt a new Bond film will surface any earlier than 2024 at the earliest.

    True fact and hopefully so.

It’s true that the odds anyone in this community are going to accurately name the next Bond a decade before that film comes out are about as long as meeting aliens. Still fun to discuss various actors that could be a good Bond, regardless of when B26 comes out.

I don't necessarily want him, but I have a gut feeling it'll be Jack Lowden.

That's how I feel about Callum Turner.

As for Jack Lowden, he'll always look like Simon Pegg to me so I struggle to see him as Bond.

And if you compare the two I think Callum fits better with what Fleming created.

I’ve said that assessing potential Bonds is the equivalent of a Rorschach test. Lol

For me there's only one choice. It's been the same since 2001 or so and only grows by leaps and bounds.
Jason Isaacs as the day is long.
Yes, he may be getting up there in years but he has diverse experience in many different roles (something incredibly important EON likes to ignore. The role demands experience.) and the screen charisma to take it in any direction. Plus I'd argue he has more than a passing resemblance to several envisionings of the character. Every time I see him pop up in anything I bemoan the fact he's never gotten a shot at the title role as I think he could do an incredible job. Ever since The Patriot I felt he could do it brilliantly and perhaps have elements of not only the Dalton edge but the Moore charm. He certainly could nail the richness and nuance that just isn't there these days in the Craig films.

Even if he was only able to do two films it would be more than worth it.

The only problem with that @hegottheboot_ is I don't think EON or the studio would cast an actor approaching 60 for their debut film.
Unless they want to go down a very different path with the next actor.
I'll give you, Jason Isaacs would've made a very good Bond potentially. Great actor.

Just started watching Game of Thrones and already Madden is growing on me. Wouldn’t at all be disappointed with his casting.

Oh I completely agree @Benny about the age issue. Wishful thinking and what if’s. Still in spite of that he’s done some more physically active roles and been convincing even in the recent past.

Off topic, but for the love of God stop after Season 4...

I never thought of him, probably because he doesn't physically look like my image of Bond, but it seems to be a believable suggestion, or at least one that Eon would consider, just like Taylor-Johnson, as he's quite young and already has a career behind him.

He looks like a Andrew Bond/Monique Delacroix son, you know, a Glencoe father and a Swiss mother. And I bet he can raise his eyebrow properly. And has a distinguishable deep voice. And...has auditioned already in 2005, when he was 27. Damn, he's 40 now. But hey, Bond shouldn't be played by a 20 year old, nor a 30 year old, IMO. This guy would do. He's a bit too tall, though.

Agree with @talos7, definitely has potential. Still seems to err a little on the young-looking side, but the next Bond actor won't get in the tux for probably another decade, lol, so he'd have my vote.

He looks 100% Scandinavian to me which means a no from me.

He most certainly does not. He looks Scottish. Do you think producers would choose a Scandinavian looking actor to play a quintessential Scott in a big production like Outlander?

Aidan Turner looks far more foreign. Which isn't a bad thing, as Bond had something of a foreigner in him. But Heughan looks as Briton as one could ever look.

Hey, I've been a Turner supporter for a long time, but I'm also offering some alternatives here. Probably none of them will be Bond, mind you. They're all too old already.

Dear @Univex I have lived in Sweden a couple of years and travelled through most of Scandinavia. Trust me when I say I have seen at least 20 exact copies of Heughan there. He certainly doesn't strike me as typically Scottish looking. The blonde hair, broad and high forehead, square jaw, smallish nose, even the blue eyes, hell he should be the next Thor.

@talos7 @Univex Callum Turner has very strong London accent and sounds good, deep, and commanding in my opinion. I see a mixture of Pierce and Roger in his look. He's 30 years old. 6' 1½". He's also adapted his voice for other types of British accents, like in Fantastic Beasts for example. Also, anyone who can convincingly charm Kate Beckinsale has a shot at being Bond, although he is using an American there but still.

I’m sorry, I just don’t see it at all; in fact few suggestions have been less suitable.

This is an awful suggestion. Very geeky looking. Not Bond.

Honestly I can't picture him sitting at a baccarat table. I don't even see him strolling into a casino in a black dinner suit.

Come on @Univex , that's not really an argument to strongen your point. They gave him auburn curly hair *poof* Scottish. It doesn't really work that way, as he's an actor first and foremost and just another pretty boy who fit the bill to draw in viewers.

“Pretty Boy”? With no offense intended toward Sir Rog, I dare say that at comparable ages, Heughan is more rugged than was Moore; his looks would mature nicely in the role.

Most of the propositions regarding the next Bond could be considered as pretty boys/ handsome/ good looking etc, but that doesn't automatically make them Bond, either.

This guy doesn’t look particularly Scottish at all.

Quite right. Five years and nine awards for a show led by a miscast...

Come on @Univex , that's not really an argument to strongen your point. They gave him auburn curly hair *poof* Scottish. It doesn't really work that way, as he's an actor first and foremost and just another pretty boy who fit the bill to draw in viewers.

Should we say the same thing for Poldark, then? ;)

Just a bit of FairPlay here, my friend, as you know I still prefer Turner.

Sam Heughan for a return to a Scott playing Bond. Guy even has his own whiskey brand.
Besides, he reminds me a bit of Iain Glen and Roger Moore. And Caitriona Balfe could be his Bond girl ;) And he's a good actor. Good PR fella too. What do you say, ladies and lassies?

Actually no, we both know Turner fits the bill much more than Heughan, for a fair few of obvious reasons. Oh well, we'll see how it plays out. Looking forward to Leonardo, by the way! European restrictions are lifted bit by bit, so hopefully filming/ production will continue swiftly again. While we're at it, please release NTTD early September.

Until they figure out a way to make movies again? The guessing game will continue for a good while still!

Damn, that's a real concern. The entire industry is at stake, tv and film. Most art forms are in danger, actually. And we've learned how important they are for us in these troubled times.
