It doesn't look tailor-made but then Stevens probably can't just spend a few thousand pounds just to have a perfect tux. Or he doesn't want to. I respect that.
Once Brioni or whoever will tailor-make a suit for Stevens if he gets to play Bond, he will look bloody marvelous.
Must be nice to live outside the Swiss island of high prices...I would have to pay at least 150 Swiss Francs (or Euro's) to get that done.
But back to the point, you are right of course, doesn't have to be a designer's suit to fit.
Maybe Stevens isn't comfortable wearing such things anyway, he may be a lumberjack sort of guy in private
:))
Dan Stevens was mentioned as the journalists favourite for the role in the Dailymail (UK)
He was mention in some German-language articles as well, all during the last 6 weeks I think.

Terrific news. The comic book series is a good one. Hardly a "secret agent series", though.
However, personally, I'm so fed up of seeing middle-aged white guys being cast in movie franchises. I think it's time an ethic actor took on the Bond role. Bond is one of the longest lasting and more enduring film characters, it would be a revolutionary move if the producers decided to cast an ethic actor. Plus it would be truly ahead of the curve and something genuinely interesting and overdue.
Aside from Idris (who is perfect for the role), the only other black actor I think has it to be Bond was Denzel Washington back in 1995. However, the world clearly wasn't ready for a black James Bond then.
We need to find the Denzel equivalent of 2020 when DC leaves the role. At the moment I don't know who that is.
Maybe John Boyega:
I liked Ed skrein very very much, at least from the pictures you posted here.
Its an in between Pierce and Daniel.
You should cast the next bond film
:)) My wife just saw Boyega's picture and asked me to whom that interesting bulge belongs
Cavill is good-looking but boring.
I like the idea of an unknown.
I think he would have been bloody awesome.
Yes I think he was and even tested with Cubby... but I don't they were seeking that type of Bond at that time. I could be wrong though.
I think he would've been an excellent successor to Roger Moore's Bond in the late 80's.
According to Wikipedia...
In 1982 he auditioned for the role of James Bond, but his audition with the producer Cubby Broccoli did not go well and he was rejected as being "too aggressive". Collins regarded this in hindsight as a key missed opportunity in his career

In 1982, Collins auditioned to take over from Roger Moore (the actor went on to make several more films before being placed by Timothy Dalton) though his try-out was deemed "too aggressive," according to the Daily Mail.
"I was in Albert R Broccoli's office for five minutes, but it was really over for me in seconds," he reportedly said. "He's expecting another Connery to walk through the door and there are few of them around."
With Dalton considered one of the least successful actors to tackle the role, many would suggest that Broccoli made a mistake, including creator of The Professionals Brian Clements.
"I thought he would have made a marvellous Bond," he told the BBC. "He was tough and he could fight, he looked good, he was handsome and he had this nice sense of humour.
"I knew he had auditioned [for James Bond] and I think they were wrong not to take him up."
Watching 'Who Dares Wins' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083941/?ref_=nv_sr_6
You get a sense of what Collins Bond could've been like. As much as I like Tim Dalton and love TLD, I think Lewis Collins as James Bond is one of the greatest missed opportunities in cinema.
He does. When he kills Oromov he blinks when he fires the machine gun.
Brosnan comes off as likeable in interviews but sometimes also a bit awkward and uncomfortable.
My favourite one of his is in the EON documentary when he's acting out the moment he got the phone call from his agent:
"This is top secret...you can't tell anyone"
"I won't tell anyone (mouths "I'm James Bond" off camera)
"I won't tell a soul...ok goodbye"
:))
My personal great Bond that never was, and probably was never considered, is Ray Lonnen, who played Willie Cain in The Sandbaggers.
Just imagine he would have played Bond from OP to LTK.
And I'm saying this as a great Dalton fan!!
Just recently bought the first 3 The Professional Blu-ray Boxes and watching them.
Collins would have been perfect.
