I love Nip/Tuck and I was a supporter of Dr. Troy and James Bond when he was in consideration. He looked the part no doubt.
I wasn’t even aware he screen tested to be honest. Is there a source of proof for this?
He's on the list of candidates we knew of at the time (the people reporting it seemed pretty sure and I remember they'd even said they'd seen a couple of the tests); the ones we know (and it seems not all of them tested):
Gerard Butler
Henry Cavill
(Actual image of his Bond screentest, apparently. There's talk that he's doing the casino scene with Xenia from GoldenEye here, but I don't know how true that is)
Rupert Friend
Daniel Goddard
Martin Henderson
Julian McMahon
David Morrissey
Alex O’Lachlan
Ingo Rademacher
Dougray Scott
Christian Solimeno
Antony Starr
Karl Urban
Goran Visnjic
Dominic West
Sam Worthington

Sounds like it might have been down to Craig, Cavill, Friend and possibly Worthington, but it seems less certain how that went down.
David Morrissey!
Christian Solimeno!
Ingo Rademacher!
Daniel Goddard!
WOW!
EON are known to test actors between films and while the current Bond is still in the role.
They potentially have a short list of actors they'd like to test. But we'll probably not find out.
And then we have the tabloid BS to contend with, with Craig actually hangs up the shoulder holster officially.
I think Friend is looking a strong candidate, especially if that article is correct in saying they liked him last time.
I wouldn't complain if it was him though it would feel weird suddenly being older then 007 (Pattison is still a few months older then me so I am still younger then both the current bond and Batman) but it is bound to happen eventually unless the world really does end and the current Macgyver is younger then me so it is what it is.
Interesting. Thanks for that.
I’m glad we got Craig.
Dougray Scott would be an interesting test to see, as well as Juilan McMahon.
Some random’s on that list too.
Yes I have been enjoying Urban a lot recently. I don't know if he'd have been the right fit but I think he'd have been fun to watch regardless. Starr is an interesting idea. Visnjic has a lot of presence in the things I've seen him in.
I'd certainly be curious to see those Cavill auditions one day to see how he impressed them. I expect we never will though.
I think it's interesting how a number of them have seen their profiles rise since Eon looked to them for Bond: it seems they know who to look at.
and he should of been in 6-8 bond films
Agree with "More Bondian".
Quite right
Apparently, a lot of people who regularly read the site are totally running with the story. People tell me they’re trustworthy, but that this is the first time they report on Bond.
Other Bond fans are saying it’s “a useful four-letter word”. I tend to agree with that last one.

As for the story, there's no way they've cast anyone yet.
Ok i just got confirmation from my cousin's third ex wife's twice removed brother's former landlord who's son is an intern at EON and it's a done deal...
up next I have Bridges in New York I need to sell any takers LOL
so that is a no to buying the Brooklyn bridge off of me?
I maintain the firm belief that casting the next Bond is still years away.
That's true.
