In terms of Spooks leads he's a distant third place after Matthew Macfadyen and Hermione Norris though, I'd say. Actually I think even Rupert Penry Jones might've been a bit more interesting.
I think they'll probably get a script together first, and possibly a director too; but if they really get interested in someone they'll find a way of shoehorning him into that script I reckon.
Shame on me. I completely forgot Armitage was a lead in Spooks, despite following his arc for three seasons. To me, it seemed that his weakness stemmed from the writing; the scriptwriters tried to do too much with his character and muddled it up. He was quite compelling in season 7 IMO, but went downhill from there, especially in season 9 when his newly discovered identity undermined the plausibility of his earlier performance.
The same year CR was released, Richard Armitage played... Guy of Gisborne in the BBC's Robin Hood.
I was referring to exactly that ;) And he ran circles around that show's Robin acting-wise.
More like the polar opposite of Bond. Henchman galore.
Oh I remember him in Fallout, he didn’t get much to do but I thought he was effectively intense. I wouldn’t mind seeing more, he’s got a good look.
Geez it was such a bad show.
Can't even remember it.
Oh, and here's a nightmare idea: Jonas Armstrong as Bond.
He's 37 now
Theo James
I need to see him either clean shaven or with a full beard. The slam poetry look doesn't flatter him whatsoever, all I can think looking at that is I've finally found someone whose facial hair game is worse than my own :)) :)) :))
1. Tom Hughes
2. Theo James
3. Nicholas Hoult
*Just misses out...Aidan Turner.
Set in the 60s, period Bond
1. Aidan Turner

3. Fassbender as an older Bond
Just look at this cracking photo
Another left field choice. Just been watching Ted Lasso, and Brett Goldstein who plays tough footballer Roy Kent could be a good choice. I did a search online and already found a few voices backing him.
He also did a comedy sketch as Bond, so seems I'm not alone -
Bond from the dynamite Casino Royale adaptation looks a lot like Fassbender.
Yes, too old and too famous. I seriously think Brett Goldstein could be in with a shout. He's completely off everyone 's radar, a bit like Daniel Craig was before he was chosen.
Season 9 was a narrative dumpster fire, unfortunately. And I think it had a bit of a knock-on effect into Season 10 which had to work hard to bring back the spark that made the show exciting.
Same problem Connery had.... ;)
Oh that's MUCH better. I'm not exactly on board with him or anything, but I wouldn't be up in arms if he ended up being cast as Bond. I get a mixture of George and Roger with that photo, which isn't a combo I think I've seen before. There's a dash of Timothy there as well.
and Tom Hardy.
He looks cut from the Craig cloth ; I think they will avoid casting an actor who would look like a surrogate for Daniel.
