Indeed, it's all very cryptic and wide open to interpretation. They talk about, say, "a man from the East" rather than mention the likes of Stalin, Hitler or Putin by name. I know that's how Nostradamus's quatrains were couched, anyway, from what I've read of them. It's as if they could (allegedly) see far into the future but could conveniently only see a very vague outline of things to come that steered clear of the specifics.

The eyes are a bit creepy, but also out of proportion a little, which might add to the strangeness.
