And those photos always make me think of the problem with being Superman- he might be strong enough to lift a car up with a finger, but the car isn't! If you put all of its weight on one small point it would just collapse or go straight through. It's always the issue when he picks up a plane or a mountain- you can't pick those things up with such a small point of pressure as a man, they'd just fall apart :)
True regarding the car, though with the fourth film physics was well and truly out of the window :)) I recall there being 135 minutes in total of footage for Superman IV, the released version was a paltry 90 minutes. Just out of curiosity I would pay for an extended cut of the film, though I have seen a lot of the cut footage and its dreadful.
Good move by getting rid of the god awful suit, this looks better than I was expecting.
Not great though better.
I was the 2nd assistant film editor (just 20 years old at the time) on Superman IV, and know exactly what happened and why over 30 mins, including Nuclear Man 1 and the big car crush sequence (in those pics), were cut out. The original 2 hour version was much better. Also, I got to know Chris Reeve pretty well because, hoping to move into directing, he wanted to learn all about film editing and so he spent a lot of time with us, closely and enthusiasticly observing the post production process. He was a truly lovely, easy going guy. And he and I really clicked because I loved Superman (saw the original 6 times in the cinema, which impressed him) and I knew all about the character, which, unfortunately, the director didn't! So tragic what happened to Chris Reeve.
Is the deleted scene of the Nuclear Man 1 fight scene on the 2006 DVD truly representative of what was shot, or is there more footage out there of it that hasn't been seen yet?
That is the cut sequence. Plus there were other cuts like the creation of NM 1 - and Clark and Lacy (Mariel Hemingway) on a date in a nightclub - and Nuclear Man 2 turning into a nuclear missile and launching himself at Russia, which was part of the last act.
I dont know how they would've excecuted the last bit you mentioned with the limited budget!

Yep, in the end credit roller, for some reason the full crew is not on Imdb, but I think Cannon failed to keep good records of cast and (particularly) crew.
I like the tone and look so far.
Possibly proper and better storylines to follow Richard Donner’s Superman 2. I just hope that it’s not just Lex Luthor or even worse, made up villains for the stories.
They're fun, it'll be interesting to see if it works.
I've still got the comic adaptations for the first two Batman movies somewhere, the art for them was really rather excellent.

I’ve aged out of Superhero stuff so to see this angled more towards the family drama side of things makes it much more palatable for me.
The cast are terrific, the effects are impressive and the story is surprisingly emotional. I’d highly recommend!
Unfortunately channels in the UK have not picked the show up yet, hopefully the early positive buzz will get someone like Sky going in for it.
That's right, the recent Batwoman went to E4 though I only watched one episode, that was enough.
The early seasons of Arrow were good Season 2 especially. The first episode of The Flash was excellent though the writing steadily declined after that.
The other CW super hero shows are a very mixed bag, the Superman and Lois show appears to be a reboot of sorts and a tonal shift.
From one non spoiler review I watched it appears the new show ignores the ArrowVerse and that the time line does not match up, they commented that the show appears to be a soft reboot.
