I'm pretty sure that pose is from the teaser trailer for GoldenEye.

If you pause at the exact moment 0:19 where it was taken in the trailer you can see Pierce's face covered right behind the N whereas in my picture his face is shown in full so it seems mine is sourced differently.

Thank you for that video. I'm once again reminded of how much I love GE. Great teaser trailer, that!

For a long time I assumed that Moore held the gun with both hands in the two gun barrel stances he did. However, a closer examination of his movement and stance in first one used in LALD reveals he's not using both hands to hold a gun specifically. Instead, he's using one arm to keep the other steady. This makes me wonder if he's doing the same thing in his TSWLM pose, only that his hand is just closer to his wrist and the angle we're seeing makes it appear otherwise. Moore does this a lot in his movies often than I realized.

Interesting that Moore did that pose a lot. The hand looks weird that far down the arm, and you'd think he'd get better stability holding under the hand. Still, nice trait.

It was also used in the beginning of Tina Turner's GoldenEye music video.

I think I would have liked Pierce's alternate pose more. I always felt the final version was like a stiffer version of Tim's.

I agree, never liked it. I've always thought he must be aiming at Jaws or somebody's head because of how high the gun is up there.

The isolated animation of Pierce shooting can also be seen in this TV Spot

I don't doubt of @Gunbarrels007 who has provided us lots of great stuff, but do you have more details of the source where this came from?

I Heard that the non-official Bond film Never Say Never Again was originally going to have a gun barrel sequence at the beginning but due to the fact that the sequence is copyrighted by EON, they opted for the red 007 logos opening.

I'm not sure if Connery filmed a gun barrel for NSNA, but according to the liner notes of the CD release of the NSNA soundtrack, the first track titled "Bond back in action" was the track meant for the planned NSNA gun barrel.
Yes they filmed one which was odd if they knew weren't going to release it.

    I’d love to see it!!!
  • I managed to find a higher generation copy of the unused Timothy Dalton gunbarrel originally intended for The Living Daylights, unfortunately this is all the footage I have of it.

That footage originated from an infamously leaked workprint, done on videotape.

All the GE trailers I've seen are totally outstanding. Make the film look like a f***ing blast, which, IMO, it is.

Didn't they try to do a Gunbarrel of sorts for NSNA - even with its own music, to me one of the few decent pieces from that soundtrack, along with the two songs and Jealousy BTW - but EON stopped McClory on his tracks?

I heard that too. Also thought they planned one for CR67, though I'm not sure.

Decided to colorize the unused gunbarrel pose of Craig.

Yes, there was one filmed for Casino Royale 1967 but unfortunately not used in the final cut. Some movie goers who have gone to the original cinema release must have been the only ones seeing the gunbarrel because it is cut from all video releases.

So the CR'67 one it was actually filmed and released! Now that's something I want to see.

Yes it's referenced on here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061452/alternateversions

Contemporary reviews of this film mention an opening sequence that spoofs the Bond films' "gunbarrel" opening, only instead of us hearing a gunshot, we hear a popping cork. Perhaps it was thought to be too similar to the opening of the regular Bond films, because TV and video prints instead use a short Peter Sellers sequence from the middle of the film as the teaser.

This is an earlier version of Pierce Brosnan's Gunbarrel compared with the final one.

That's a publicity shot of Brosnan filming the gunbarrel.

Wow. A comment on a thread of mine that isn't "Earworms"? I'm shocked. And that's better quality than the one I've seen.

That's wonderful. Maybe the first version with the best quality we have seen.
I look that's the second version of the author from the channel.
Maybe in the future he'll be a third version of the sequence more detailed.
And here is the german trailer:
