I'd agree with you if Disclosure weren't so damn amazing.
But it seems the intro/snippet we've heard now is at least a good Bondian sound ... here's hoping!
Although they have a D&B influence, and are primarily in the dance sector, Disclosure are first and foremost musicians. We have nothing to fear from their involvement.
“I just knew I wanted to write a love song,” he said. “In all Bond films, there is an underlying message of love and I feel like I can write love songs. So I was like, ‘I’m going to go in and I’m going to write the biggest, most epic love song I can.’ What I also wanted to do was to create something classic. I love “Goldfinger” and all those songs — the really classic, traditional James Bond songs.”

Well, it's a bit ridiculous to write what I'll write from a 15sec snippet, but listen to the 00:12-00:13 bars of music : it's already slowing down, so IMO it's hard to imagine a very upbeat rythm after that. But actually everything is possible (ie : sharp contrast and indeed something upbeat after).
We are here, 53 years after the great "Doctor No". And still, agent 007 inspires us and brings the best creative talents into reality :-).
Heh, you checked as well? Odd that we can't pre-order it. In any event, it's coming out in four days, so it's not the end of the world.
i know right?... just based off these notes alone i can picture it being woven into the score - especially if it's true that Smith finished this song a long time ago (there is almost no excuse for it not to be lol.)..
i know i shouldn't dignify this with a response... but i am going to anyway...
...it's only 15 seconds.
His post was almost certainly a joke.
Absolutely, just based on these notes alone it's got a beautiful, sweeping sound that evokes classic Bond that screams to be included in the actual score. All the best Bond scores have included the theme song repeated in various forms through out the movies; I can't think of a good Bond score that's hasn't. SF song inclusion was just an after thought so, for me, Newman's score rating is in the bottom pile.
I do think Newman heard from many people about this, so we can probably be optimistic that he will do better with this score overall and to include the title song. I'm slightly optimistic, yes.
it's honestly hard to tell anymore lol.
i wonder though how much of that was his doing?... i am not keen to specifics, but i think i remember reports that Adele was busy creating her theme well into when Newman had already begun work on his score - this might be the reason why her song didn't have a presence in the score beyond that 1 track.... it stands to reason that since Smith finished recording this as early as he did, Newman may find ways to weave it into his score.
we shall see... when does the actual score drop? are we still a month away for that?
I expect we will get soundtrack previews maybe two weeks before the film is out. I think that's what happened with Skyfall.
@KlausHergesheimer
i agree with both of your comparisons to parts of Barry's score for MR and AVTAK..
to my ears, i also hear a little bit of an Octopussy sound in there as well... i couldn't tell you what track though..
EDIT: i might actually be thinking of that cue from MR, not OP..
