Queen Ann Press £14,000 Luxury Ian Fleming editions

I was quite unaware that the above existed.
I've looked at them on line and they appear to be the ultimate in terms of finish, presentation and artwork.
OK they are hugely expensive but my question is, what type of investment do you collectors out think they make?
As good as first editions or perhaps better?
Evidently only 100 sets have been printed.

    I just wish that the Queen Ann Press would make an affordable edition of Talk of the Devil (2008) available to literary Bond aficionados like us here in this community. I've lobbied for this in an article on my blog and on this forum.

    These too are ridiculously priced and only the fabulously wealthy will be able to afford them. I don't think though that they would be considered more valuable than the original Fleming Bond first editions, although I could be wrong.

    Yes quite agree - they are prohibitively expensive. Hopefully a more affordable version will come our way.

    Indeed. Make that the theme of the year as far as I'm concerned!

    @Birdleson, you are 100% correct but what interested me about this collection is really the marketing raison d'être,if indeed there is one.
    Thus fare, we've had two special editions from the Easton Press.
    The first being their 2005 leather bound luxury set that were printed by arrangement with Penguin in the USA. Villiers53 is the proud owner of this edition and although his certainly aren't for sale, they have done very well on the market.
    The second Easton Press edition comprised two runs of first edition replicas. These, it would appear, have not done at all well on the market and I suppose that they match neither the demand for fine bindings or the collectability of a genuine first edition.
    Now, in addition to the Bentley edition of 'Casino Royale', we have the limited editions from Queen Ann Press.
    Although the Queen Ann Press editions do appear to be the ultimate in design and craftsmanship, at £14,000 a set they are clearly targeted at Russian Oligarchs.
