I do hope this is a lesson to EON to keep a tighter control on their scripts and we don't get a similar thread around the time Bond 25 is announced.

I know some here are much younger than me and have only been fans for a short time and are most likely used to spoiling everything as is the way of the world but I'm hoping we can have some more mystery come the release of the next film, yes SF had too much revealed but whole damn script is just ridiculous.

I don't think Eon can be blamed for this. If it wasn't for the major Sony hack - which released more than the Spectre script, this wouldn't have got out.

Tighter control of the script? It only came out because the studio (Sony) got hacked. Eon had reason to believe Sony would guard it carefully. Others had different ideas.

I don't think any of us are stating we know everything. We just know everything about what we've got to look at; the drafts, the outlines. It's pretty damn obvious we won't know everything.

i think its reasonable to assume that the major plot points and action beats will stay in place but the character scenes could have been changed since the december draft. maybe bond 24 & 25 were always envisioned as a two parter and it got dropped because of the john logan debacle. maybe its back on track with sam thinking about coming back to complete the story arch and he got p&w and/or jezz butterworth to already do a outline with the intention of releasing bond 25 in 2017?

  • I'm interested to see how Oberhauser's base in Morocco will come together? In the script it's described as being in a crater.

  • Haha I know what a crater looks like, I mean the actual base itself.

Me too... :-) :-) :-) That's why there will be a construction group in Morocco 4 months prior to shooting - that's from February (February - June - 4 months)

No idea, but that is an impact crater in the Moroccan desert. This could be what we get to see in the film.

The climax at Westminister bridge: So we can expect Big Ben as a backdrop?

Yes. That's going to be a big impact on traffic and they can't get that shot done in one day. Maybe green screen will come into action

Big Ben is like a roadsign on film, saying "London". Much like Paris and the Eiffel Tower or New York and the Statue of Liberty.

Extremely possible. That or the Zocalo Square helicopter scene

I wouldn't be surprised if no story work has been done on B25 yet. Eon may want to see how well SP goes over and how eager people are for continuation.
Although if Seydoux and Waltz are indeed signed-up and I figure they are, Eon is at least committed to a continuation, which only makes sense, but they may not be anywhere close to knowing where they are going with the story, although I am sure they are kicking around ideas and scenarios.

I do fully support Shatterhand as new title though.

Fleming fans will know exactly what is coming, and those not quite so Fleming knowledgeable, will recognize title, at least as very Bondian.
Eon and mainstream media will quickly educate people on the general meaning and significance of Shatterhand.
SP and Shatterhand is potentially one of the best 1-2 punches in Bond film history.

    I though so too.

At the end it's this line I think: But he accelerates ahead of them, arcing the plane up and out of sight.

Yes. I was imagining Lorenzo just like that in my mind. Very mysterious, I think he will be a great actor, even though he has such a minor role.

So, the guy is bald, has a scar and is at the Spectre meeting in Rome. Hmmm I wonder who Mendes and co are trying to set him up as in the audiences mind lol
  • I know we've pointed out a lot of Spectre comparisons to previous Bond films, but after re-watching Moonraker, I've noticed a lot of similarities:

    - A large, intimidating henchman
    - A Bond girl doctor
    - A cable car sequence
    - A sequence set during a festival
    - A plane sequence
    - Q arriving in a seperate location to London

Reminiscent of TND. SP will be a hodgepodge of past throwbacks for better or worse!

Let's just hope that's the only thing that Spectre and TND have in common!

If only SP could have a score as great as Arnold's in TND.

With Newman scoring my expectations are very low.
