I wasn't a huge fan of Bond's confrontation with C just because it seemed so derivative of Bond and Dryden in CR. Switching it to M solves that problem. Not to mention M had been battling C all along, it should be his payoff to get to finish him off.
come to think of it, CW facial scarring at the end of the movie would let the producers recast the role if necessary for bond 25 (good move on their part).
Seems there's been some tweaks with a fair bit of the dialogue though.

Funny you ask that, because when I read the script and saw that line, I immediately thought, "That line will be in the trailer." It just seemed like it would work narratively for the audience but still be evocative and mysterious. I was right (for once)!

In an earlier version of the script, the name Spectre was written by Q on the bathroom mirror in a hotel in Austria, before he got kidnapped. In the December version of the screenplay the name is revealed by Swann, just like in the trailer.

They omitted the playful exchange with Bond and Swann at the clinic. That could easily be used for a future trailer as well.
My personal idea
First I think Blofeld\Oberhauser was always the head of Quantum\Spectre so when he found out Bond became 007 he set his revenge plan in motion
Casino Royale I believe once M assigned him to the case he made sure Vesper was there to end his career there with him losing the game. When it became clear to Vesper's Quantum superiors she is falling for him the plan changed to allow Bond to win and escape (hence Mr. White killing Le Chiffe and Mathis line about someone sending a message). Le Chife also acting on orders of Quantum alienated Bond from his friend Mathis but saying he was the leak when he really wasn't.
Quantum of Solace: I genuinely don't think this was part of blofelds plan however this has implications on spectre and explains the name change. In the film Mr White during interrogation won't even reveal the name of the organization. I think the reason is due to keeping everything secret from mi6. Once bond overhears it in Bregenz Austria and gets photos of some of the mid level guys including Dominic Green and Guy Haines this is where the name switch takes place from Quantum to Spectre. I also believe the political pressure to remove bond from the assignment is caused by spectre as well as Mathis and Fields murders.
Skyfall: much like bond interfers with Quantum\Spectre non bond plans in Quantum of Solace (I don't think for one second Blofeld set up a criminal empire just to destroy 007 I am sure he did it for money power other reasons too) Silva and Patrice come along to mess up MI6's non quantum plans. I don't believe Silva is a quantum\spectre agent (unless the film specifically says so) but I do think they funded him and Patrice as well as most of Silva's men are indeed Quantum\spectre agents. With M dead they feel bond is truely alone however M prerecord information regarding Quantum\Spectre which kicks off the events of Spectre
So what is everyone else's thoughts?
I also have ideas on how the video games connect but I need to think more about that.
But in the December script there's a huge continuity error in the 3rd act (Swann leaving for Paris after kissing Bond goodbye, then getting caught by Oberhauser in the Paris airport, and then returning to London as hostage, at the same time it takes Bond to go from point A to point B in London). So they must have changed parts of the 3rd act to fix this.
Is this the final draft ?
If it's the case, i'm a little disappointed by the final... A little too ordinary for my taste.

No, the final (leaked) draft is from December 2014, not October.
But the ending is almost the same.
But we don't know what they changed since December.
But I have a question for those who read the script: - Is there a parkour chase in the movie à la Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace?
There are some short action moments without cars, planes/helicopters, boats etc. - but there is no real foot chase.
Also, note that the trailer IMO makes it quite clear SPECTRE is not a "Bond on a mission" movie, with the lines about holidays, no authority, you're finished, etc.. And yet in the non-leaks thread, not all of the fans get it (the Q lab scene could create confusion).
Finally, about the "Brother" lines not used in the trailer : I think the reaction of Bond in the trailer when seeing Oberhauser hints a bit at the "I know this guy" theme already. I think there's still some possibility they'll play the "Brother" angle in the promotion. This forum could be quite hot :)
