Yes the only person at Sony who even mentioned Elba was Amy Pascal, who is no longer involved in that sort of decision making. BTW there's an interesting comparison with Spider-man, where there's sort of been an internet 'thing' to have a black or latino actor playing the role (there's precedent for this happening in the comics). And of course the list of actors auditioning appears on the web...and it's all white guys. So now we know what Sony thinks about this kind of internet 'pressure'.

no studio's don't have an impact on story because everything in Casino Royale-Spectre is all owned by EON not Sony. Since EON will still be making the films It doesn't matter.

Did it matter when it was Marvel Studios making the Incredible Hulk film with Universal distributing?

Like I said all depends on the deal they broker. Among the issues would be actually when trying to package/release the Craig films in one set and so forth or when say the new studio would want to organise marathon showings of the previous Craig films before midnight screenings of B25. More complicated when you have to not just deal with whatever studio distributing B25 but also Sony because of the previous films too.

If it's like Disney getting to distribute the Paramount-released Marvel Studios titles (Iron Man to Captain America) I.e. the new studio having distribution rights to the previous Craig Bonds as well.as the future ones, then it will all be fine.

Apples and oranges Sony has no rights to really anything bond related and remember dr. No- I think for your eyes only was all UA Octopussy-die another day was mgm and UA and casino royale - spectre is UA mgm and sony

I think Craig will return for 25. I reckon he will be one of the highest paid actors of all time for doing it though. But you know what he has put so much in, I think he deserves to be.

Not really since because of the MGM/UA merger way back when and at the moment MGM owns UA.

The thing is that the distributor change to Sony was fine when this started because of the rebooted nature of the story - they currently hold the rights to the Craig films up to SPECTRE, Sony and MGM are co-financing and Sony is co-producing with EON.

Perhaps SPECTRE is tactically the best moment for Craig to get out before he really looks way too old. He has done his thing perhaps now time for some new fella to have sh&t happening to him.

Daniel Craig has announced that he will retire as 007 after the next two Bond films.

So if Time is believed Craig will be bond till bond 26 :D 6 films total which I think would be a perfect run

Wait, is this official? Bond 26 will be Craig's last?

Im done with it if Statham becomes Bond, he lacks the talent, look and class of a Bond actor. I doubt he would even be considered, considering he has been playing Bond knock off charachter in movies for the last 15 years.

Warner Home Entertainment already releasing sometimes real 20th Century Fox movies in The Netherlands. X-files, X-men or Kingsmen are all released in cinema by Warner, released by Fox on DVD/BD. Taken official Fox movie is released by Warner in both cinema and with very bad bonus material on BD/DVD.

Earlier i already said Fox kind of steps a way and is taken over by Universal. Fox be respossible before for Features and posters. Fox releasing the Paramount/Universal/dreamworks animated movies like Kung Fu Panda now, whyle previously Paramount/Universal releasing them. Spectre it is already confirmd MGM/Universal wil do cinema release and MGM/Sony wil like Casino Royale wil release first DVD/BD release. Bond 25 wil possible then released by MGM/Warner. MGM/Warner working before on The hobbit. That sound like Universal was choosen only because Fox left. But i think it is more. My feeling is that Spectre wil feel more Universal, this you see also with the fact Mi5 using same people/countrys. Like at time of Casino Royale Sony in first place. Whyle Fox stil producing the features for CR. QOS and Skyfall both be released on BD/DVD by Fox.

I think we wil miss Fox a lot of after Bond 25, next year it is 17 years. But i must say, if Warner realy whant there are very good too. We can't denie also that Fox whant to do a step back with sometimes Disney behaviour. Problem is that Warner sometimes there ignore The Netherlands also with new releases (No Digibook releases / No Batman 1966 series, we must wait 6 years before i can buy Batman boxset with first 4 movies and we stil waiting on Super-Man.), there using low audiotrack on there dvd's (Whyle re-release of Casino Royale happend this too), using Dolby True HD tracks (Batman movies are better then expect.) or give us HD-Ma 5.1 track but then others country's 7.1 track, not giving us a bonus disc if others get it. Fox is expensive but Warner even more. Other cons: Sometimes there don't release at all or there don't have intrest and giving rights to others who ignore us. To contuned on this: I get idea there not realy have much trust any more in BD. There are more lazy in making this avaible those days then 1 or 1,5 years a go then Fox. Focus be on highlights/new movies. This is because there are more demendind things like Disney. For example it wil take 2,5-3,5 years before some movies be on tv. Christopher Nolan working for them. There wait to long to make sequels, whyle there look like on previous movie. Is big suporter of digital filming and Imax.

But Fox are the one that not making a BD release for Side Effects and Hitcock and it look like there wil not releasing X-men First Future Past Rogue Cut at all like Disney did with Night Crawler.

No. Tactically the best moment for Craig to get out is Bond 25 if there finish with Camile/Felix. If this not delayd to Bond 26. Bond 26 wil be optional then.. Worse thing to is quite with Spectre. New Bond i not expect earlier then 2022. This means there can be 4-5 years after Bond 25 in 2017/2018.

That how I feel about Bond now. To be fair, it's not just Craig, but also how the part has been written.

My cinematic Bond fix for this year will happen on June 28th.

Much as I like Craig as Bond, I agree with you. Craig's interpretation is far closer to what Statham would bring than say Connery or Moore.

Realistically talking, it is absolutely impossible that Jason Statham will be casted as Bond. He's 47 now, and since Craig has signed at least one more Bond movie, which will come out around 2018, it means Statham will already be in his 50s when his first Bond movie will be out.

Even if Statham were young, I would say say no, to his casting. He's too rough for Bond. But I wouldn't object to him appearing in a Bond (or two) as... Ronnie Valance, perhaps.

Jason Statham always struck me as a Bruce Willis with a British accent. Before Willis proved he could act.

As far as I am concerned Bond 25 will be Craig's final movie unless we hear otherwise officially from EON?

The thought of Statham makes me laugh, because so many people went ballistic about a blond Bond. Imagine the fits of rage over a bald Bond.

Until Craig is formally replaced by EON, we're in for an endless number of actors who fancy themselves the next Bond. I still think the next Bond is on nobody's radar yet, maybe not even EON's.

Agreed. To a point. He, whoever he is, may have been mentioned fleetingly in pub conversations, but I agree that it won't be someone on the tabloid radar yet. The whole 'next Bond' bollocks is ever-present, unfortunately. It does annoy me that people are sucked into what is essentially a pointless dialogue.

I'm throwing Tom Hughes name into the ring, he's doing a fine job in The Game, got the last 2 episodes to watch tomorrow night and have been thoroughly enjoying it.

Remember Craig was in Archangel a year before CR and had been popping up on TV quite a bit beforehand, as long as Hughes stays relatively under the radar and not get too big I think he might be up for consideration.

I remember tipping Craig after seeing him in Layer Cake so this who I'm going for, not saying it will happen though.

Although I'm happy for Craig to continue as long as he does, I'm pretty sure if Dalton was in these films certain people wouldn't be so critical of this era as they are.

Lets face it if they'd made the Dalton films without the theme the gadgets and all the trimming like the first 2 Craig films they'd be pretty generic, especially LTK which would have looked like some cheap Lethal Weapon/ Die Hard knock off.

They'd be pretty far from what you associate with Bond, proving some people just want familiar cliches and elements to remind them, never mind storyline or characters. Sling all that at the screen, that is why some Daltonites think the Brosnan era feels like a Bond film more than the Craig era, imagine those films without those elements.

As for Statham he's nothing like Craig, Craig has range and subtlety, Jason is as one dimensional as they come.

I can see it, but almost a period version. He could work, but I think it depends on how he matures over the next eight years. He could potentially work really well. What's bizarre is that, like DC, he's from Chester, which as a Cheshire boy would make me happy.

I don't know anything about Hughes, but from a quick google search, he has a bit of a Cillian Murphy thing going on in my opinion. A little quirky looking for Bond, no?

Really? I'd have Dan Stevens and Jack O'connell ahead of him at this point. I love Hoult, but his eyebrows need their own agent.
