Brilliant stuff, Gustav! Thanks for posting.
  • It's great huh? I especially love Piz Gloria. Such a cosy little villa...with the best view ever.

Oustanding. It's amazing firstly what vision Ken Adam had, and secondly how, in older days when costs weren't so astronomical, what they were able to construct without crappy CGI.

Sadly, I find the last 3 disappointing, only because the vision did not really come together as well on screen in the movie. We never saw that sky high view of Brosnan taking that jump in TWINE for instance. Blame it on cinematography maybe, but that has been my complaint about the later ones. The David Lean'esque beauty & scale was not there for me.

Only CR (crane sequence) and all of SF really brought it back to the old days in terms of visual scale IMO.....and perhaps the entire finale (including Janus HQ) in GE.

I have that book as well. I was going to create a thread similar to this because I'm really interested in getting photos of the Ken Adam designed lairs.

Absolutely brilliant! I'm buying this one! Is there also something about Tim's entries in it?

Sometimes I revisit older threads, and I thought this was worth a look for newer members.

Oh wow, what a shot of nostalgia directly to the brain. I bought that book that contains the opening post images wayyyy back when I was in elementary school. I'm pretty sure my copy didn't contain DAD, but then they released a new version once that was released. I'm eager to dig through my belongings to see if I (hopefully) still have it, was a great collector's item.

In the Christopher Wood novelisation there's a special room where Drax's perfect specimens shag in zero gravity that Bond and Holly walk past.

Wouldn't have minded seeing that realised in the film as some of those Drax birds were very fine.

Interesting. I'll have to track down a copy of the novelisation.

Meanwhile I recently found these neat 3D renders of Dr. No's lounge.
