I love the way Roger grasps his hands together then rams both arms backwards with his elbow (to make a blunt instrument) when fighting. What a great signature move. Does anybody else ever do that? :D

On a note about some of the negativity, on one level I can understand
We all have our favourites but I don't have the same dislike to film or
Actors that some seem to display.
I'm a Bond fan, I love all the actors who've played Bond, including Moore
And Brosnan, who seem to take a lot of flak. I prefer Connery, Craig and
Dalton, but I watch all the films all the time.
Maybe, I'm the luckiest Bond fan in the world, as I can appreciate the
Humour and scale of Moonraker and at the same time love the more
Realistic tone of Casino Royals or Quantum of Solace. :)

  • #But no one will ever beat Roger Moore who is the best.
    Except for:
Connery, Lazenby, Dalton, Brosnan, Craig and Niven.

I can see your point... But no.

Moore and Dalts are also my favourite Bonds. I like a bit of both worlds. But Sir Rog is the ultimate Bond for me. And probably always will be.

Simply watch DN, OHMSS, LALD, TLD, GE & CR... how can you seriously dislike any one of these guys? Have we our favourites? Sure, but they all had something great to contribute to the franchise!

Absolutely true, but there is no way that anyone can consider Rog as the best Bond! Thats bonkers!

Yeah, it's the best scene in the movie.

I love how Dalton brought the novel Bond to brilliant life, yet the movies themselves retained a bit of that old school cinematic outrageousness. =D>

I love that Roger Moore had such a long and varied tenure.
He saved the series from stalling out or having a new Bond every 2 years or so, kept it moving forward, brought his own style and charm to the role, had stellar moments and not so good moments, yet kept at it. He was a great Bond overall and he did a lot of good for the franchise.

Although I agree (along with Roger and so many others) that Octopussy would have been the perfect way to end his time as Bond, I still value the length and strengths that Roger brought to Bond films. His lengthy stay as Bond also helped cement the series in our culture and keep Bond films a viable part of our world.

I love how Dalt just clobbers Pushkin's thug over the head with the pistol.

    THAT was fleming's Bond.

    +1,
:) I think Roger did a fantastic job as Bond, I feel he's my Bond as he was
Bond in the cinema. Sometimes,I get so sad reading all the hatred directed
    At him by some.

Having just seen it last night I find myself not quite loving it, but my appreciation for at least 90% of it has risen very sharply. I now count it in with Kamen's as a good solid score.

    Agreed.

I've always liked the GE score. I agree that it fits the movie perfectly (incredibly so). It is also fresh sounding in some places, but a little too modern and avante garde for Bond in other places.

The Michael Kamen score has really grown on me over the years too. Coming off one of Barry's best (TLD) I did not like it on first listen. However these days, like the movie, I really enjoy it.

Yeah, it's the best scene in the movie.

WOW. Hold on. I have to take issue here :D

The sniper/'defection' scene after the title sequence is far and away the best & strongest scene from TLD. Trust me.
