Q as clairvoyant and Deus ex machina

Beginning with FRWL, Q branch possessed the incredible skill of knowing what gadgets Bond would need prior to his undertaking a mission.

DN--Here Bond is equipped only with a replacement for his Beretta. I rather like the simplicity of Dr. No.

FRWL--Turns out that standard issue attache case came in quite handy when Bond encountered Grant. That it was standard issue gave Grant acting as Nash credibility. In this case (pardon the pun), it didn't seemed contrived.

GF--Bond will be tracking GF across Europe, so naturally a 1965 low tech tracking device would be reasonable. And why wouldn't the secret service provide a car? Fair enough. But is the ejector seat a stretch?

TB--Though only in the PTS, the jet pack was just plain goofy. Who the hell said, "Take it. You might need to fly off the balcony of a chateau." "By the way, take this miniature breather in case you're thrown in a shark tank." Too convenient or not?

Which of the Q branch gadgets throughout the series seemed reasonable and plausible, and which could not have been anticipated, served no purpose other than to amuse, or were just too conveniently available?

    Great thread.
    Definitely clairvoyant.

    Examples
when Q turns up in the USA in DAF he just so happens to have brought the magic voice changer with him which just so happens to have developed for the kids.

OP that crocodile submersible is the perfect apparatus required at that very time and Q must have know to pack it on his way to India.

    LTK. All the equipment.

Plus, why does Bond only ever use the equipment once. If the exploding pen in Goldeneye proved to be useful, surely he would have had it in future films as well?

Is there any movie where Bond gets given equipment then just goes 'nah, don't need it'

Oh and how was the jetpack ready and waiting for him at the chataeu?

DAF is full of proof. For instance the rattrap in Bond s inner pocket, and fake fingerprints.
