If we're talking box office, then Bautista is the one who has done the most significant work in the past two years. I honestly haven't heard of the rest although I'm sure they are going to be reasonably successful efforts, financially speaking.

None of the above struggled for continuous quality work pre Bond, and haven't since Bond. Back to my original point, none of them have been cast in film due for a 2019 release.
Which makes sense of course. Things can change between now and filming start date, including script changes which may preclude their involvement.

Regarding them not hurting for work, that's to be expected imho. They were all reasonably well known prior to SP.

Again why I am surprised none of them have any work booked up for release in 2019 with it only 14 months away. Going to stick my neck out and say a majority of the Spectre cast will be back will have some part in Bond 25. The story will be "less personnel" and " quite different to Spectre - P&W

Before anyone says anything, yes,i know its WIKI,but on the SP page it says : 'A sequel is set for a 2019 release'.

I don't like the word 'sequel'...makes me nervous re this film.

    1. as you said, it's wiki
    2. SF was technically a sequel to QOS. still, it was very much a standalone Bond film.

Of course it's going to be a sequel @barryt007 . I think that goes without saying.

I was living in false hope for a standalone or a loose connection to SP....ah well.
At this point it's still far more likely that Bond 25 will be a more or less standalone film, than a direct sequel to SP with Blofeld returning.

@SirHilaryBray All those actors could already have 3 movies each announced for 2019 and still appear in Bond 25... On the other hand, the fact that they haven't officially signed on for any movie to be released in 2019 doesn't mean anything.

These are all massive in demand actors, yet none of them have a film with 2019 target release date other than Bond 25 rumoured? when 2019 is 14 months away and None of them are cast for 2019 production .. I say that says more than your seeing from it my dear fellow.

Be honest with you - they are not serious in demand. In demand maybe, but certainly not serious. They are not in that kind of class. Two years ago Waltz probably was, but these days I gather he is very much seen as an one trick pony.

Wishaw has just finished Disney's new Mary Poppins as lead male.

Fiennes just finished playing Moriarty in Will Ferrell's comedy Sherlock & Watson

Waltz has turned his hand to Directing so explain why not really delved back to acting

Baustista just did Marvel's Guardian 2 , Blade Runner and the new Marvels Avengers

Lea has just finished making Drake Doremus new film with Ewan McGregor & Theo James as well as Kursk with Colin Firth.

Bellucci has just done the Twin Peak reboot.

If all of the above are not top drawer and the work of in demand actors I don't know what is. Sometimes I feel like you just say polar opposite to stir the pot.

Again, I didn't say that weren't in demand. Still I just don't think these are those kind of actors who just can't find any spare time in their schedule for a Bond movie. Bautista for example is not that very busy in the movie industry apart from the guardians of the galaxy movies.
So many of you here are thinking and talking in absolutes. This is not the way to approach things if you want to find solutions or answers or whatever. Absolutes lead to wars of faith, nothing else.
Just because somebody doubts and asks questions doesn't mean he hates anyone or wishes him doom or whatever.
It's never the believers, who find answers, since they don't search for them!

Wow mate, the whole thread is about speculation. Until EON make announcements nothing is definite that goes without saying. But until then we can observe different information that indicates if prior cast are to be involved, such as leaving a year out of being cast in any other project.

That is encouraging indeed !! Hopefully made more in the standalone with loose connections format ,as per SF,as @PanchitoPistoles posted.

I know I will be chastised for it, but I'm still convinced that things are very much hanging up in the air with Bond and therefore none of them is holding his or hers breath, let alone decline other offers (if they sound attractive).

'Less personnel'? This is encouraging, perhaps alluding to the end of the Scooby gang?

    http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/james-bond-25-007-daniel-craig-writers-neal-purvis-robert-wade-a7622496.html

Discussions have previously been held regarding the direction of the next film with Purvis and Wade telling the Telegraph last month that the new film would be “quite different” to latest Bond film, Spectre.

They said previously to NME in January 2017

“The thing is, I’m just not sure how you would go about writing a James Bond film now,” he said.

“Each time, you’ve got to say something about Bond’s place in the world, which is Britain’s place in the world.”

Purvis added: “But things are moving so quickly now, that becomes tricky. With people like Trump, the Bond villain has become a reality. So when they do another one, it will be interesting to see how they deal with the fact that the world has become a fantasy.”

Asked whether they would work on another Bond film, Wade replied: “Never say never. But for sure, Spectre felt like it closed off a certain way of doing Bond. And I think whatever happens next will be quite different.”

This is one of the most promising quotes ever from P & W. I'm hoping Bond 25 will be radically different from what one would expect from a Bond movie.

The only thing for me though,is that this quote was January 2017.
As far as most people were concerned at that time,SP closed off Craig's tenure and he wasn't coming back,so I think they were referring to a new Bond and a new direction.

Now Craig is back,it kind of makes that comment defunct.

Craig was always coming back. I think EON have found a way of keeping Bond in the news and the excitement going with the whole will he won't.

According to Archivo007 (who doesn't precise where they have the "info), Ben Cooke will be the stunt coornator in B25 :

Dan's stunt double on Casino, QOS and Skyfall replaced by Gordon Alexander, Andy Lister and James Embree in Spectre.

That mean he made promotion and replace Gary Powell. Mabey Powell wil return as stunt guy only or better not return at all.

Mabey there have seen Assassin's Creed where he works with QOS second united directer Dan Bradley or with movies lead sunt coordinator. Mabey Bradley will return, but there don't whant the mix with Powell again. Dont vergot Dan Bradley work on much loved Mission Impossible 4. Jonathan Taylor who head stunt coordinator of Assassin's Creed and worked on Bond before. Ben Cook and Taylor can be option.

You know what really kills me? QoS gave them such a great template for a glorious future complete with an omnipotent adversary and everything else you would imagine a Bond film to have, but they choose to sacrifice at all to give Mendes his washed up Bond.

It's a pity it was considered a bit lacklustre (and derivative of Bourne) upon release, especially in comparison to its predecessor. That and the long gap perhaps caused them to re-evaluate approach. Nolan nailed it with TDK in the meanwhile and the rest is history.

Quantum of Solace would've been so much better if the story was given some longer pace to breathe and the shaky-cam Bourne influence was abandoned.

Completely agree. There is a noticeable improvement around the time Bond enters Austria, when it slows down at the Opera after the quite frenetic start.

Precisely... only to lose the cool during that shootout in the restaurant and that sad depressive cello music playing over a silent scene with no sound.
