Does this rule him out?
Yann Demange didn't have much of a chance, anyway.
Besides OHMSS, has Bond ever actually dated a girl or had more than a hook up? How many times have we heard the term “You use women as disposable objects”.. He didn’t care that Solange died. He used her for info and left her. Didn’t even have sex with her.
Didn’t even show remorse when she died. He seemed to care a little when Fields got killed, but he didn’t care when Severine died? Who said I didn’t respect 007? I am merely stating the obvious..
I don’t understand why she would realistically be back. It worked for Connery. He could have a random girl come back sure. Craig’s Bond is more human with a backstory. He left with Swann at the end of the last film and they are “in love”. He quit the service for her. Why would he ditch her for Lucia? That would confuse the general audience.. He barely even knew her and he also didn’t seem to care about her.
She’s just another solange to me. Would have I loved to see more of solange? Who wouldn’t.. Plot wise no reason to bring her back..
it was never fully explained what Bond's intentions were at the end of the movie..
yes, Mendes wanted Craig to have an 'out' (the whole tossing the Walther away, and recycled leaving the service bit from CR) in case he decided to call it off after SP.. but now that Craig is back, the ending of that movie - and Bond's intentions are more ambiguous... what you might view as him leaving the service, i could view as him wanting a temporary leave of duty (vacation) - he's done it before... as far as Bond and Swann being in love, she is the only one out of the two who expresses that feeling - and who knows, maybe she is doing it to snap Bond's attention?.. but if she means it, she isn't the only one who has told James she loves him - only to have him ditch them between films (Tatiyana Romanova in FRWL being the most notably example - who professes her love, all the while Bond is slapping her around).. the ending to SP, with Bond driving off with Swann, could be easily explained away like the ending of 95% of the Bond movies that came before.... also, James throwing away his gun - it was out of bullets, the police were already there to take Blofeld in, what further use did he have for it? - he could just as easily get another from Q.
Just like in the movie Demolition Man, where every restaurant is Taco bell ( or Pizza Hut ) in our reality every future movie or tv program will come from the mouse studios and EA ( or Activision) is the only video game company.
How about Small Fawcett being behind it all?
:))
If they want to bring someone back, they should perhaps consider Gregory Beam (David Harbour).
I can see a scenario where he's implicated in some Spectre infiltration of the CIA. Perhaps Felix gets caught up in it, bringing Bond in to help out an old friend. I realize it's the personal angle again, but they could make it work.
Harbour is a great actor and I quite liked Beam.
General audiences aren't going to remember the likes of Swann and Lucia four years later, that's for damn sure. Bellucci was one of the very few highlights of SP for me, but I don't see what more her character can bring to the table.

You remember the Mirror? The tabloid that said this summer Bond 25 was going to be based on a Raymond Benson novel.
If you forgot, don't feel bad. Various Bond-related Twitter feeds were all agog about Bellucci earlier today (probably because of the Variety story and the actress being coy). Clearly they forgot also.
Good call on Gregory Beam. I thought he was great character in QoS, wonderfully played by David Harbour.
Funny, last year I had a job where one the employees was a dead ringer for Gregory Beam. I was tempted to say: "Anyone ever tell you you look exactly like David Harbour in Quantum of Solace?"
The guy has since grown a full beard, changed his hairstyle and no longer resembles Gregory Beam.
i've been watching Stranger Things - i thought he looked familiar! lol.
Wasn’t he arrested in QOS? Leiter got his job?
yes... i dont know if he was arrested - but he was ousted from his position, and Leiter was promoted into it.
Leiter got promoted but I can't remember what happened to Beam. Even if he was arrested though, it will have been 11 years by the time B25 is released, so he could have served a sentence (yes, that's how long we've been made to wait these days. *sigh*).
Haha. Harbour is known to change his look quite a bit though. I've seen him in some films where he's barely recognizable. He's quite a chameleon like actor.
And now he’s playing Hellboy!
Everyone can remember that. You mentioned the Variety story and that's exactly why she's in the spotlight at the moment. The 'meat' of the story is that she answered it in-person (albeit in an ambiguous fashion) and that her agents didn't unequivocally denounce it either.
The Mirror might be a disgraceful rag, but I will give it credit for at least getting celebrities to talk.
I don’t remember him being that big of an actor until Stranger Things. He was also in suicide squad.
;-)
This is a weird one if true. I thought she was underused in SP but definitely didn't expect or particularly want her to return.
I'm thinking that @bondjames might be right on the approach they're taking. Not a direct sequel (can't see Blofeld featuring at all) but will start a few years down the line with an older retired Bond. Maybe Lucia is in some sort of trouble and seeks him out? Or maybe he just bumps into her as sort of a reminder of the past? I doubt they'll reference SP explicitly, all the audience would need to know is she's someone from Bond's past. Probably going with her rather than a new character to address complaints that she wasn't used enough in SP after all the "oldest Bond girl ever" hype.
I should probably watch Logan to get a better idea of the road they might be heading down as I'm sure that was what inspired them if this is the route they're taken, but an Unforgiven sort of story with James Bond is definitely something I can get excited for.
Or maybe she was just keeping shut just in case but hasn't actually been asked back and I'm reading way too much into it.
