Well well well,I never knew that,i thought it was only the one !
Ultimately the film will stand on its own. It will either soar, be seen as mediocre, or be seen as disappointing. As with anything, we won't know for sure until a few years have passed.
One thing I'm sure of: if B25 is his indeed his last, the chance of it being a 'high' are less likely because the inevitable marketing push will be to presell and market B26 as something really special, particularly if it will be an anniversary entry. The hype train will be off the charts.
I think he signed for one Bond, with United Artists agreeing to finance non-Bond projects, but only The Offence got made.
There is an interview that Connery said during the filming of Diamonds where he flatly says he "only came back for the one," meaning Diamonds. The clip is in the documentary Inside Diamonds Are Forever, which is included on home video releases.
This is correct.
It was DAF plus a two-pic deal, with, as you say, only The Offence being made.
Take that for what you will.
I thought I would quickly read through this diary to get an idea about the next James Bond film....
37.5k comments.....ok then....I'll report back in three months when I'm done reading :P
But I don't understand, what are you saying bro? That there's 37.5k comments about those two facts? ha ha....fascinating!
Having just rewatched the entire James Bond franchise, Sir Roger Moore might now be my favorite Bond. He is the most malleable actor in the role, striking a brilliant balance between suave, camp, vulnerable and serious based on what the film called for. Without diminishing their strengths, I'm not convinced any of the other James Bond actors could obtain that degree of adaptability.
What? We are absolutely NOT on ground zero. You need to start reading between the lines, mate.
Martin Blank: Don't rush to judgment on something like that until all the facts are in.
TLJ is awesome - die hard fans (I'm not one) are disappointed because they've spent the last two years pontificating on the internet, creating a mass sense of expectation of what they were expecting to see - leading to inevitable disappointment - perhaps there's a lesson there for us as we await Bond 25.
There’s nothing wrong with expectations and when a film doesn’t meet them but rather does nothing and plods about for 2 hours then has a shitty climax and a terrible end for other characters, then it’s a bad film
I'll take TLJ far over SPECTRE, it was a travesty.
More like surfing the glacier. ;)
We don’t even need to know that it was Spectre behind the plot until the end of the film. Of course, this could all be done in Bond 26. Bond 25 could certainly be a stand alone. If the film has a good plot and characters with well executed direction, it doesn’t really matter who the villains are, as long as Spectre isn’t in five Bond films in a row... :)
