Indeed. I'm bored to tears with Bond wearing an Omega. Bring back the Rolex!!
I'd also take the Seiko over the Omega.
The new Omega's seem to be ripoffs of old Tissot watches. The regular Seamaster looks like a ripoff of Tissot Navigator.
Isn't asking him about a supposed private conversation he had with Boyle a little extreme?
"Dave Arnold speaking."
"Hello, Dave. Danny Boyle here."
Arnold nearly wets himself.
"Wow, YES!!! I mean...how are you? HUGE FAN of your films, Mr. Boyle. So I hear you got the Bond gig? Congratulations."
"Why,thank you! As a matter of fact, that is why I call..."
Arnold does wet himself.
"Yes? Go on!"
"With your connections, do you have someone you could recommend for the composer job? Someone new and fresh."
What's the appeal of these commemorative collectible pieces? Does it sell much?
Arnold has been ostrictized from Hollywood apparently.
It doesn't have to be phrased like that (can you tell me what did you and Danny Boyle talk about). Just a simple question - are you going to be a Bond 25 composer, or something like that. Someone asked him the same question before SP and he answered.
Anyway, he doesn't have to say anything if he thinks it's inappropriate.
Not my "thesis". It has been discussed many times on here over the past couple years. I don't know where it came from, which is why I said "apparently".
I stand corrected, said the man in the orthopaedic shoes. Just over 2 and a half minutes of Bond theme, in a film that is a little under 2 and a half hours long. That's nowhere near enough, i'm afrraid. Now i'm not saying that the Bond theme should be used when Bond is carrying out a highly important task, such as filling up the coffee pot in the UniEx canteen, but the use of the Bond theme in the last few films is laughable.
To Thomas Newman, I would like to say this... as The Rock told Wyclef Jean, "It doesn't matter about your Grammys."
I've never seen the appeal of them till the Spectre Seamaster 300, which has very few 007 references on it, most of which are out of sight when in wear. I've never bothered to check what the resale is on those as I've never had any interest. I know the Spectre AT, using the Bond family coat seemed to sell well, but the Commander edition seems to still be in stock according to what I've heard either because of the design or no new movie to promote when it came out last year.
Perhaps David is selective with his work. I wouldn't know though. I don't keep up to date.
The Spectre Seamaster 300 looks waaaay better than the Commander watch. What was the reason for Omega to launch a new watch without a new Bond movie? Seems like bad marketing.
Just as long as they get rid of that shitty canvas strap and go back to metal is the main thing.
Yes Sean had the same strap in DN but that was the olden days so you can excuse it but these days it looks very naff.
Just like so many aspects, such as the GB, that they seem so good at getting wrong it’s not rocket science. Rolex Submariner with the metal strap as worn in LALD - timeless. Or if you must sell out to Omega whatever they have that looks the closest to it.
That's a nice watch right there! No unnecessary details, black watch face - what more do you need? Much the same way I want Bond 25 to be. Just the basics.
I prefer a leather strap myself actually, but that's because I hate the metally clang when placing your hand on a table, etc. Tried a GF styled fabric strap on my watch (a cheap Timex) but could never get used to it.
You don’t want that as your legacy. You’re better than that.
At least the hope is that EON might take notice and dial back the Scooby Gang™ if these guys are saying it as they are clearly on their radar. They were at the premiere so like a lot of prominent Youtubers they get given perks by filmmakers in return of an expectation of positive reviews (which is what they gave SP at release - although I have listened for ages they might have revised this now but at the time they were conspicuously effusive in their praise).
Red Letter Media are the only ones I really trust to call it how they see it.
They were probably expecting Bond 25 a lot sooner then when we're getting it would be my guess.
I thought bringing the NATO strap back was an awful idea, but having now worn one, they are quite comfortable during the summer or in humid climates. They're not for everyone though and some of Omega's newest straps I could never picture on my Seamaster.
LALD inspired me to save up for one and I couldn't be happier. It's quite timeless and I hope they go back to it one day. The last time we saw it was in LTK, when Tim prominently sported the latest model at the time.
Regarding the NATO, I'm not a fan of it either. A bit too utilitarian for Bond imho. At least Sean wore it when he was doing some diving and actually getting down and dirty, which is what that strap was originally intended for as it came out of the British military.
With Boyle's idea and his scriptwriter, we already have a different (hopefully fresh in a good way) story coming our way. I don't want Logan's ideas in this one at all. I think Boyle is a good director and I feel positive about him putting his own stamp on Bond. I think he's a genuine fan. I really don't think he'll make a film that will seem ponderous, too full of angst, or go the opposite way and be too cheesy or shallow. Of all the directors we have had mentioned, I think he could bring something really interesting to a Bond film. I hope I'm not disappointed, but right now I feel Bond 25 is looking good.
I also would love to have the composer announced, but I'm not concerned. Just knowing Newman is gone is a source of joy. As I've mentioned, I like Arnold. I do think this will be someone new, though.

I don't hate it. Neither do I love it....
I would have loved Angelina Jolie over her. Helena Bonham Carter seems a little attainable, I want a surprising and unexpected name. Couldn't they get Meryl Streep? HBC seems like Danny Boyle-esque casting to me.
