Love his answer as I'd love to see him return. Tried to field the same question to him yesterday but no luck with a retort; glad someone managed to get a response to it.

I like the Eurotrash casts - just my cup of tea. But has Boyle worked with euro actors before? He’s more into British and American actors isn’t he?

He does like a bit of ethnic diversity though and giving fresh young talent a big break so I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some interesting lesser known casting in the smaller roles.

The great Bond films are littered with great minor characters - please continue that tradition.

My only concern is that Westworld Season 3 has to be set for filming soon. Right?

I'm sure Wright can handle a small Bond shoot reprising the Felix role. Schedule other Westworld actors to shoot while Wright is doing Bond. Obviously won't be a big role (more like QOS) but seeing him again would be awesome

I actually would like to see Wright's Felix playing a bigger role.

I think LTK was the only time it mattered wether Leiter was in the film or not.

At that stage of the film series, and with Leiter being recast, it could have been any ally of Bond.

I'd say the soonest it will shoot is a few months time, if we're lucky. They want to take their time with it so it may not even begin until 2019. I'm sure he could squeeze in time for Felix, given the role isn't a major one.

I'd like Felix to have a more prominent role in the next one, a la TMWTGG novel.

I would be SO happy ic Wright would reprise his role as Felix Leiter. Just saw CR and QoS again back to back and they work together really cool.

That would be a very, very good sign for B25.

I remember starting to worry when they cast Waltz, then the title song was released .. maybe this time it starts with good news and anticipation will grow.

I'd be ecstatic if Wright returned as Leiter. He has a natural charm and marvellous screen-chemistry with Craig. I enjoy how they pitted Leiter as a friendly-enemy of Bond's. Both the modern Bond and Leiter are allies but appreciate they represent different world interests. It be a shame if Wright didn't return in either Craig's last Bond film or even the next actor's run. (I also really like his smooth voice)

Also in recent photos, he looks exactly the same. So no need to wait for him to grow the beard out.

One actor, I think could make a great Felix, (and who happens to be working with Barbara Broccoli currently on Rhythm Section) is Sterling K Brown...but it's Wright's gig to loose.
Oh no no no, if not Wright, it has to be Matthew McConnaughey!

I love McConaughey but he'd feel so incredibly out of place in a Bond movie. Felix has been great, I'd just like to see more camaraderie between he and Bond.

TMWTGG is the last one that comes to mind when I think of Felix having a bigger role in the story. LALD is the best use of Felix, and after that probably DAF.

The President of Annapurna, who helped set up the MGM distribution deal for the next Bond installment, is leaving the company:

I was about to say the same thing. Thunderball also comes to mind and even Casino Royale features Leiter more than TMWTGG.

TB has Felix in it a lot.

Doesn't Felix participate in a lot of action rather than just aiding Bond in the midst of the assignment?

Indeed he does. Felix is rather a pro-active character in TB.
  • As an aside, screenwriters, going back to Jack Whittingham's first script for Kevin McClory in early 1960, have tried to give Leiter more to do but it never works out. Maibaum's first Thunderball try (in 1961) also gave Leiter more screen time that he got in most 007 movies.

Yes, even with his hooked hand and half a leg he insists on accompanying Bond on the underwater raid. And in the novel TMWTGG he may have a higher kill count than Bond himself; plus he is involved in the final swamp battle between Bond and Scaramanga (who near kills Felix, if I remember correctly).
That's what I meant. I'd like that Felix in the films rather than the Yes-Man we always seem to be getting.

In QoS, Felix was the most interesting and intriguing he ever got, and I’d certainly like his return like that, but again in moderation. I don’t need a buddy or dual story.

And speaking of Leiter in QoS, a return by David Harbour as Geoffrey Beam would also be a nice touch, if handled correctly.

I have a lot of feelings both guy and gut but they deedn't warrant a Why is this here? I think Felix was a nice addition to the first Bond film for Craig and he was a nice little cucumber. As long as he doesn't try to outcool Bond then we're good to go, whip the script into shape and taylor it all the way down to suit for a classic bit of fun between best friends.

I really hope Wright returns in (what's assumed to be) Dan's swan song. Would be cool to see Gregg Beam too, though unnecessary. And unless Bond returns to South America, I can't imagine Felix being out in the field with him.

And Rik still is my favourite Felix, and closest in looks to the novels.
