First of all: I had been telling you for MONTHS that just because Gassner confirmed himself last year, that did not mean much, and that it was not unlikely he would be replaced by Boyle. Turns out I was right AGAIN.

Second: although this recent news does not prove Cashley is genuine, it does make it more likely that he is not making all his rumours completely up.

Very interesting. Perhaps there’s more to Cashley than meets the eye.

I wonder if Naomie Harris knows anything new.

FWIW, she's also at 007 Elements.

Tildesley has worked with Boyle on several movies, you don't need insiders to predict such a thing.

I'm now convinced that Suttirat Anne Larlarb will be the costume designer of Bond 25.

Don't think we'll get any definitive news on that front until October/November, but I'm surprised we've yet to hear rumours (other than Cashley).

I still think that most of the Spectre cast might come back. Dave Bautista for sure.
It isn’t the greatest that they are losing important people with 007 experience. However, some areas it could help in, in particular screenwriting and music.

Yeah after the Boyle distributor announcement it seems bond 25 is remaining quite again at least we now know all the major ducks are lined up though but what I'm now most curious about is if boyle is finished filming the beatles movie cause I think once he's done with that then he can 100% focus on bond 25 and the rumor mill can truly kick off also I wonder if babs and mike are done with the rhythm section.

Who, Cashley? I don’t recall him predicting Tildesley.

He did. This was what he posted a week back:

    - Anthony Dod Mantle is the DP
    - Mark Tildesley will replace Dennis Gassner as production designer
    - Daniel Pemberton will score
    - Filming will take place in London, Croatia and Paris
    - Jolie deal is being worked on, but it's still too early. Though rumour has it that Boyle has met with other actresses and the preferred choice may be Sarah Paulson. However, there is "concern" she is not a big enough name.

Sarah Paulson isn't a big name in the cinema, but she's a big name on TV, and a terrific actress to boot. Her versatility is beyond question if you watch American Horror Story.

I’m a little sad to see Dennis Gassner not return for Bond 25.

I think his work in QOS was terrific. Also, SF and SP had some really lovely flourishes. He was certainly a step-up from the bland and insipid sets that Peter Lamont had been gracing us with.

The move to hire Mark Tildesley is clearly Eon letting Danny have as much free reign as possible. Boyle has a tight group of collaborators, so I’m not surprised he wants to bring them over into Bond. Tildesley’s sets on Sunshine were terrific and his work on High-Rise had a terrific modern-retro brutalist feel (it’s really a movie that is highly reliant on the production design over story). Also, the sets in Phantom Thread are opulent, poised and stunning.

I’m very excited to see Boyle truly take the reigns of Bond. It’s clear Eon don’t want to water down his brand. Here’s a sampling of some of Tildesley’s sets:

Those Highrise pictures would be very much what I would like to see in a Bond villain lair.
The design in the pictures from Phantom Thread don´t appeal to me at all.

Well, Eon gave full reign to Forster and Mendes as well, didn´t they?
Admittedly, I´m much more excited about Boyle than I could ever be about Mendes.

Someone let it slip on Reddit that bond drives a new Aston & avoids a close death in b25

I also heard Bond might fire a gun and seduce a lady of importance. Don't quote me on it though, I don't want to get fired because I have Connections in the Industry (TM)

    Another Cashley update:

Boyle was in LA recently finishing up his new film with some scenes there. He met with Universal top brass and they are said to be in the process of signing off on his casting decisions. I heard that before heading to LA, Boyle was recently on the set of Maleficent 2 and spent a lot of time with Jolie.
I hear Boyle has spoken and got informal commitments from cast. He’s just in the process of formalising those agreements. But I think Jolie is a lock to play the main villain. Expect an announcement very very soon.
I hear the film is much further on in development than people think. The script is said to in the process of being revised by another writer (though Hodge is still working on some acts) and the locations have been scouted and secured. The action sequences and VFX are currently being planned. Supposedly, Boyle wanted to make the film for $100m but the budget is ballooning (as expected). Any attempt to make a modest picture have disappeared and the film should be north of $150m (which makes sense as craftsmen and women alongside actors can ask for a hefty payday from a Hollywood tentpole).
I hear the mental health/depression angle was key to Boyle’s pitch. So to summarise:
    • Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are in the film and have deals. I know there were some concerns that Fiennes was too busy, but this isn’t the case. He will be in the film. He spent a total of three weeks on SP (one week filming the first two acts) and a two weeks doing the finale).
    • Angelina Jolie is in the process of signing on.
    • Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch are in the film. Likely in smaller roles.
    • Lily James is the top pick for the female lead.
    • Golshifteh Farahani has met and auditioned.
Finally, if you live around London then you’re in luck. The film will be made predominantly around the city and in the East.

If true, that ballooning budget worries me, as I thought Boyle of all people would've managed to keep it around $100-150 million, not north of it. Better than $300 million plus, I suppose.

Just keep the action set pieces right. The mission impossible toilet fight scene is the sort of action we need and not these wack pointless and overblown explosions etc.

This really doesn't sound all that good. Why does the film have to be set in mainly London They should've got Mendes back this one doesn't sound all that exciting to be honest.

I'm struggling with why this could be bad. If Jolie, Strong and Cumberbatch is in then that's a pretty good cast. Some of the better Bond films were set exclusively in one area. Especially the early Connery films.

It sounds reasonable why bond 25 would be more one location based after spectre's over blown budget but if cashleypersia is to be believed it sounds like the budget is ballooning more than boyle intended but that's the price you pay when it comes to bond

Well, if the castings are close to be locked, we really should hear something from any reliable source. Deadline? Baz? Anyone?

I think it could be easy to check IF Danny Boyle was really around Maleficent 2's set... Perhaps someone nearby could ask or through twitter...

I really don't consider Jolie or Lily as actors, they're just celebrities really. This is Brosnan era stunt casting if you ask me.

Maleficent 2 is being filmed in Pinewood so it would make sense for him to pop by while presumably prepping the 007 stage for the Dec/Jan shoot.

I think I agree. Give me Brofeld anytime over Bond's understudy and the film being set in London.
Angelina Jolie AND Benedict Cumberbatch AND Lily James in the same Bond film? Sounds too hideousto be true!

    Fixed that for you.
