It would be cool to see Michael Shannon in a Bond film. Great actor.
Amended.
Post of the day.
Count me in with the positive crowd, this guys definitely is showing a Barry like vibe with this piece, anything but Newman returning please.
Banff could be nice too depending on what they're going for.
They filmed the Burj Khalifa interior stuff for Ghost Protocol in Vancouver, so maybe something like that too to save money?
Arnold carried the baton marvelously. Barry is Barry. Arnold is Arnold. Any aural comparisons between the two began with Last of the Dogmen and ended with Stargate's nods to YOLT. We've had composers ranging from the atrocious (Norman) to the excellent (Martin), but Arnold has been Barry's most capable and most well-suited successor on Bond IMO. And there's no question he's still got it, if you've listened to his Sherlock music from just last year.
We technically haven't had a Bond without Arnold since he began and I hope he'll return soon enough to be able to say in earnest, "I never left."
It is repetitive but I think the melody is very memorable and stands out so I don't mind the repetition of it. It reminds me a lot of Barry's later work in the late 80's and throughout the 90's.
His Sherlock stuff is excellent, and I'm very excited to hear what himself and Price do with Dracula.
Don Johnson and DC in the same film. I'm in.
If Bond 25 will be partly shot in Canada then I think it's safe to say that EON would spend time at the Pinewood in Toronto. But that's a big "if".
What? IMO it looks like a fantastic location!
And many cities in Canada can stand-in for other cities (which it is primarily what Toronto and Vancouver are used for). But, once again, a big production like Bond should be crewing up shortly to lock everyone for a March shoot, and studio space, especially at Pinewoods, is not readily available-- studios are booked months and months and months in advance.
I wish this rumour to be true, but so far no one's reported about this-- from agents and producers, to the industry mags, including Playback magazine (which reports on all things happening and shooting in Canada)
It will be interesting to see if the rumour turns out to be true. As you mention, Toronto and Vancouver are often used as stand-ins for other cities, but it would be nice if a Canada location would be Canada on film.
Oh I agree. Anyone thinking this country lacks exotic appeal should go no further than checking out Mount Tremblant — this is a resort town that brings many A-list stars in to vacation...
That looks like a great location! Having seen some World Cup cross-country skiing tournaments (on TV) taking place in Quebec, I think the Château Frontenac would make a good place to shoot some scenes for a Bond film.
The city and the Château looked like a filming location waiting to happen during the TV coverage. The snow made the scenery look even more picturesque too.
Agreed! Quebec would be lucky to get Bond, and Bond would be lucky to shoot in Quebec-- one would enrich the other, lol. It would also give me an excuse to return to such a gorgeous city/province!
It would also give us who haven't been to Canada at all another reason to visit!
