Me neither. One less on the Scooby gang. Now for the others...
I was always lukewarm on him even going as far back as 2010 when he was first rumored but now after everything sorry I feel we dodged a bullet personally I think Cary is going to do America proud and show you brits that is Yanks can direct 007, and keep it british.
I think we dodged the bullet there. I am incredibly sick to death of hearing that Bond needs reinvention and modernization. That to me says Bond is worthless s**t as a franchise and character, not worthy of today's times. Good riddance to Bart.
Or it could also mean getting in on the ground floor with the story. I’m convinced that the final shooting script for 25 will have DNA from other drafts that were developed over the last eighteen months.
I could however support the follow-up sentence, "it´s time to modernize that Franchise in an interesting way", if the emphasis is put on the last four words.
I read it that way as well.
Well said, sir.
Well said. I'd thoroughly it if B25 ends up being a well done, old school traditional Bond film that gives the finger to these prima donnas and their attitudes toward Bond.
I just think it's a matter of creative flexibility.
My thoughts exactly. I’m tired of hearing that all the time. If Bond isn’t good enough as he is then these pretentious filmmakers can go screw up some other franchise.
Exactly!. Leave 007 alone and go screw up Superman or something.
Here again, I may be biased by my concern and frustration that EON wrong-footed themselves by waiting too long on starting development, pinning down a director, and etc. When the development finally started and they lost Boyle they were then scrambling and whoever we end up with isn't the first choice and hasn't had a proper run-up.
That said, the bit about 'modernizing' Bond could be intriguing (if done right, which has happened in recent memory with GE and CR), or worrying.
CR was based directly on Fleming's novel. We won't get that again, except for details from this or that novel or short story.
DAF Novel has a lot to offer if they will use it in future films, I want some classic elements to return even for a single shot- bond's royal navy uniform/ bond desk like in OHMSS/ female villian/
Back to the days of Roger Moore Bond. Gone with the 24 elements.
Where England only be place where Bond can return too.
Bond meet Oberhauser man first in Spectre
On first side subtil element of modern because it something we haven't seen for a whyle. QOS is full with it. Dennis Gassner mabey not return, stil hope some of his and his art directers stil get this kind of influence on Bond 25.

Sounds good to me.
