But the new Star Wars is not shooting 100% studio. A very close associate, my very own ProductionDesigner, is an Art Director on the new film, and he also did Last Jedi, and he looks after the extensive location shoots, in fact far more locations than we saw on SF and even SP. Again, I am bewildered by your weak and very ill informed arguments.
A far smaller percentage of the Last Jedi was shot on location than of Skyfall or Spectre.

In other news, Jon Mallard has joined Bond 25 as the First Assistant Director
    https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0539883/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr11

He's a long time fixture of Fukunaga's team. He worked with the director on True Detective, Beasts of No Nation and Manaic (he was also the Producer of the latter).

It seems that despite the anxiety on discussion boards, the film is moving forward behind the scenes.

The question now is whether other long time Fukunaga crew members will begin to get announced.

Nice. I figure a lot is going on behind the scenes at the moment, and I don’t think there’s reason to panic yet.

You’re right, Panchito. All films, pre, during, and post, run the exact same way. Leaks for these films ALWAYS come out in and around the same time.

Something is deeply wrong on B25. CF’s interview from a week or two ago was a ruse, I tell ya! A ruse! His delightful commentary must’ve been to throw everyone off the scent that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is lost on B25!

Come to think of it Panchito, if things were off the rails on this production, I think that would have been leaked some time ago.

    Craig is filming a movie.
    CF is finishing the script.

Cant leak something if there's nothing to leak. Honestly, I'd rather have nothing. Then its more nonsense discussions about having Angelina Jolie being a villian. Casino Royale was the best Bond cinematic experience for me and possibly the best ever because I knew nothing about it prior.

Answer me one question: when was the last time there were this few leaks 3 months before the filming of a James Bond movie started? As for something being deeply wrong with BOND25, I have never claimed that. All I am saying is that the lack of leaks/news is suspicious and worrying. Seriously, why does me voicing my concern make you THIS angry and upset?

Why is that necessary? The Sony leaks put a damper on SP production. If there is any casting/location speculation that is being discussed, one can almost think that jobs/roles are on the line to keep their mouths shut.

But I’m not angry. Nor upset.

I find your posts humorous to the point of being annoying, at times. I, and a few others, were trying to give you some perspective. In other words, we were trying to talk you off of the figurative ledge. That’s all.

Listen, in the end, if you think it’s all suspicious— then have at it. I support you and your hunches.

I honestly can't understand why you're so worked up by no news, @PanchitoPistoles.
Not worked up at all, just voicing my concern. On the other hand it seems me voicing my concern rustled a lot of jimmies in this thread. Some people even got personal! Why?

Concern about no news seems just bizarre to me at this point in production. But, each to their own. News will come eventually anyway.

That's the way I see it. I don't pay much attention to the see-saw anymore. We'll know when we know. At the very latest, given their filming start date, we should get some snippets by mid Jan or early Feb as to whether all is on track.

Did I touch a nerve there, poor lad? At least I don't go nitpicking into the most unimportant microscopic details into something and provide the thread with hideous, horrendous and nonsensical discourse.

PP, stirring and shaking the forums once again. If someone wants to start a war, just call this guy. He really knows what to say. It's a true gift. He knows that we are hungry and he comes in talking about the lack of food. A true warmonger with the best intentions. An angst delivery system, a true negativist realist. Still, good fun to have him around. I came here looking for news, with over 40 new posts, and then...the realisation, oh...PP has just commented on the lack of news...I didn't bother to check all the other comments, just jumped to the last one. Right I was ;) Still, must say I was very disappointed with the lack of Nolan comments and worship. I wonder if Nolan was in Fukunaga's place, right now, concerned with weaving a good script and keeping everything under tight secrecy, PP would still be as worried as he is. Yes, I believe he would be. But at least he'd have his faith to hold on to. Cheer up, mate, it's almost Christmas. Be happy. Live life. Go watch Fukunaga's films and shows. Write your own script, see what that's like. Entertain yourself with other stuff. Go watch Doctor Who and despair. Something, just don't fret, it'll harm your liver.

if filming begins in March i am really surprised locations and the big setpieces havent been leaked yet. They started building the sets in Austria for Spectre in the fall of 2014.
Yeah. It's pretty weird how quiet it's been. Not worrisome, but strange.
No, it is 100% worrysome. Either Bond 25 will be a much smaller Bond film than what we are used to (which is very unlikely), or they are in deep trouble and filming will be delayed again.

Are you serious? There's nothing strange about this. Bond 25 is in pre-production and they are keeping things under wraps, like any big franchise film. How much have u heard about the new Star Wars film? And that's been filming for months now. Just calm down. News will trickle out soon enough.
Always defending EON, right, Colonel? The comparison to Star Wars 9 is entirely unfair for two reasons: that's a movie that is nearly entirely shot in a studio (meaining fewer leaks) and nearly the whole cast is made up of returning actors (again, meaing fewer leaks). Seriously, when was the last time a big budget movie with extensive on location filming planned was in pre-production and there were THIS few leaks just 3 months before filming was supposed to begin?

When Boyle's departure was announced some people here stated that they were expecting something like that to happen because of the lack of leaks/news. Now here we are closer to the planned start of filming than we were when Boyle left Bond 25 (109 vs 101 days), we don't now more about Bond 25 than we did when Boyle left, and you are essentially saying being worried is unreasonable??
:) Leaks??? Leaks??? We don’t need no leaks!!! We don’t need no stinkin leaks!!! :)

There are no leaks because EON hired the best leak preventers in the biz.

Don't argue against it too much. Otherwise, someone might leak.

I'd say that being worried is unreasonable as long as nothing concrete has been communicated that we should be worried about. In the absence of news, one might of course suspect that something 'not good' is going on, although one might also consider the possibility that very tight lips are nothing more than a normal precaution, resulting from former bad experience.
  • I just took a leak myself. Also the pipes in our house once leaked. Any other leaks to report?
  • I hope David Arnold signs on to Bond 25 soon.

It’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility. In addition to promoting Bond through his concerts, Arnold has co-produced expanded editions of his scores for DAD and TWINE over the past year. He obviously has an active relationship with the Bond team as well as the passion for it. Here’s hoping.

Guys, let me give you a free advice.

If someone's posts continuously annoy you, just ignore them. If you react, you will create a debate which will go on forever. If you ignore them, they will become lone comments, posted every now and then.

    You're welcome.

I skip over the comments of the few people I no longer care to hear from. Just see their name, pass, and move on. Works like a charm. Even when a couple of them are prolific on here.
  • Fukunaga literally recently updated us with the status of the movie. They're working on the script.

I don't doubt the Bond girl and/or Bond villain will be reported sometime down the line. We just have to wait.

I honestly believe that over the past ten years we've grown conditioned to a "half-truths are better than nothing at all" lifestyle, which explains why one blog poster's wishful thinking becomes five dozen other blog poster's "rumoured" headlines, which in turn become thousands of interested fans' (and a few naïve film journalists') "confirmed" exclamations almost overnight. Tweeting and then thinking has become the new "kill first, ask questions later", but by then false rumours have already spread like a virus.

I'm as excited as everybody else to hear something from B&W, but I'm also patient. The interesting, less vague and less speculatory bits usually drop down much later in the game. The first bones they throw at us have an ugly tendency of drawing a lot of blood from the most optimistic and pessimistic fans both. Remember when Casino Royale was not going to have "any explosions or gun firing", which led many on this forum to conclude that the Craig era was going to be about as boring as Craig was blonde? Remember when Naomi Harris was going to be "Eve" but not Moneypenny and Christophe Waltz was going to be Oberhausen but not Blofeld? Especially with the latter, several members of this forum were absolutely convinced that Spectre and Blofeld were firmly locked away in the past, that modern Bond films would never dare to invite those relics back in, and they were willing to give up posting here altogether because not everyone was willing to believe them.

More than a handful of threads are immediately infested with civil wars based on small pebbles of news that can usually be read anyway we like. Those wars are fought by three factions: those who are absolutely sure that x will by y, those who are absolutely sure that x will be anything but y, and those who insist that patience is a virtue and all the clairvoyant bickering is just stupid. When the truth finally reaches us, all the fuss is proven to have been for naught and serious talking can begin. I'm going to relax for now and await that stage of the game. More than anything, I'm not going read an information vacuum as an immediate cause for stress. Good things come to those who wait.
