It would not surprise me if Villeneuve did a installment later down the line, Ana would be good for a younger Bond I first saw her in Knock Knock which was not the greatest film though I liked her in it.
There is 0% that this would ever happen. I don't think any director who has left would explain in said film's press conference why they left in the first place because that would overshadow the film itself. You wouldn't see Colin Trevorrow, who was fired from Star Wars: Episode 9, appearing at the press conference to explain to the press why he left. Lucasfilm only left this statement when announcing his exit.
Why not have Boyle just run the whole press conference? In fact, why move forward with B25 at all when Eon could instead invest in a documentary starring Danny Boyle and focused entirely upon his plans for B25 and what went wrong? That's clearly what people really want to hear about.
Hard-Boyled: The Danny Boyle Story starring Danny Boyle
"This is what happens when you take your eyes off the kettle. Coming Feb. 2020."
I needed this! Thanks, @Some_Kind_Of_Hero !!!
No proboylo.
Hysterical!
I've not seen Westworld so can't comment (maybe this is part of the point), but this track sounds rather derivative of a Nirvana track which I can't place the title of? Personally I still think Daniel Pemberton is a wonderful shout - but I can't see it happening during Cary Fukunaga's watch (could see Dan Romer getting the gig though).
Roll on press conference! :D
Don’t feed the squirrels.
Gotcha ;)
*If* there's the press conference format (last utilized for Skyfall), we'll get a title and principal cast members will be introduced. Some of the more serious minded reporters will try to ask questions (maybe even about Boyle, maybe about why such a long hiatus) and the principals will dodge them. With the 2011 event, somebody tried asking Barbara Broccoli a question. Craig interrupted said, "This will be a Bond with a capital 'B'." Assuming Michael G. Wilson is there, he'll get a question and really dodge it.
Plus, you'll have the less seriously minded members of the press corps asking silly questions.
Does anyone know how Michael G. Wilson's health is? I know he had some heart problems for a while.
There is another thread for composers, and we should probably take this over there: https://www.mi6community.com/discussion/4953/music-composers-you-would-like-to-see-score-a-bond-film/p13
And I agree, it´s not really saying much About the composer´s suitability for Bond.
We’ll have the title, the new cast, Daniel Craig, the Aston Martin – Eon will spoil the press and anticipate that they’ll get excited for Bond 25 on those merits. I can imagine there will be probably be one journalist who’ll ask Fukunaga if he’s daunted taking over from Boyle – but we’ve seen him in interviews before and he’s soft-spoken and diplomatic.
Also, in many entertainment circles, there seemed to be as much genuine excitement for a Fukunaga helmed Bond film as there was for a Danny Boyle. In some respects, there may have even been more interest.
It’s purely a guess, but I assume that Fukunaga was given all the scripts/treatments by Hodge and P&W and allowed to shape the story himself.
However, I think Eon must have explicitly said we have these three large set-pieces planned for (let’s say purely for example’s sake), London, Namibia and Norway. They have to happen as approval for such sequences takes months to obtain due to councils, authorities and additional approvals needed especially in light of concerns over things like terrorism. There are bigger issues if they are using heritage sights.
I guess CJF was told what he had to incorporate and it’s his job to figure creative ways to incorporate what Eon have. Therefore, the big action opening of the previous draft may get reworked as a second act set-piece. Etc.
I kno w this is the model that Christoper McQuarrie worked with in his M:I films Effectively, your back-engining a story from action sequences - but as long as the story and the action is good - audiences will forgive you.
If I had a major concern about Boyle it had to do with his casting choices in many of his films (although Luca Marinelli in Trust has Bond villain written all over him). I am more confident in Fukunaga on that front, based on what I've seen of his output.
If there is one area where the next Bond can beat MI all over is having a great, well written story. A classic Bond movie is more than just a series of action set pieces linked together by some "quiet bits."
