So did I. Not really impressed with Alexander Witt.
[Whishaw doesn’t expect to continue with the Bond franchise now that Mendes has departed from it, though he has nothing but praise for incoming director Cary Fukunaga: “I’m not even sure if I’ll be in it. I’m assuming that I’m not going to be so it will be a nice surprise if they put me in. I think it’s right he and Daniel need to just figure it out. I’ve done two; I’ve had a good run.” Still, Skyfall will always mark the beginning of a new era in Whishaw’s career. “I was in a film that people actually saw,” he said, good-humoredly. “I mean, [that] lots of people actually saw—and that really changed things.”]

Well said. I'm sick Bond having and earpiece in and being guided on his every move as though he were a 3rd grader on training wheels. He's well into his fifties for goodness sake. At least he will be by the time B25 is released.
As for Wishaw returning or not, meh. Doesn't matter to me. It's not like GF was just released and we're discussing whether or not Desmond should come back.
Ben is alright, though as far as the Scooby Gang goes.
Also it's worth noting that Fiennes recently confirmed his return to a Q&A audience at the European Film Awards. It seems bizarre to bring back only part of the MI6 regulars if Q is indeed out.
Either the interview is a few months old or Whishaw is trying to throw people off the scent.
In fact….(quite curiously)….I found this interview from 2011 from Cary Fukunaga talking about his Jane Eyre film where he insists that the only British actor he reached out to who couldn’t be in the film was Whishaw:
So you really — not to say that you got lucky because it sounds like there was a ton of talent and thought there–but both Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska have just blown up over the last year. Did you kind of expect that it was going to be that kind of trajectory, or did you just really like them?
I just really liked them. I wasn’t really thinking about whether they’d be bankable as movie stars at all, just raw talent. ‘Cause I saw Fassbender in “Hunger,” and I just really wanted to work with him. Jamie Bell, years ago, saw him and wanted to work with him. It was kind of dreamy in a sense that all these people that I wanted to work with, I got to put into one film. And now I’ve pretty much worked with everyone I wanted to work with. Like for right now, except for maybe like Ben Whishaw, a bunch of other actors, but there was this core — Dame Judi, Jamie Bell, Michael Fassbender, Mia Wasikowska, Sally Hawkins — that I literally got to work with in one movie, and I wish I could’ve used them more. I wish I could’ve had much more of Sally, much more of Dame Judi. Sally Hawkins was amazing by the way, and she is only like in two scenes in the movie. I wish we could’ve done so much more because she’s such an amazing actress.

We know from Baz that Ben Whishaw is back for Bond 25 – so this isn’t really a story. Though it does give us a nice opportunity to once again remind ourselves how stellar Whishaw has been in the last two films. He has most certainly been the MVP of the newer Bond films and now feels like part of the furniture. I hope to see him in the role of Q for years to come.
Also, I hope Q has had the chance to buy some specs between films. Cary has quite the collection he can share.
The standard practise is for the casting director to do an availability check on potential actors or regular cast members, and I'm sure this has happened by now (hence the recent news from Baz), so Whishaw would already know Eon are looking to use him even if an official offer has not been made yet. I suspect he's playing his cards close to his chest.
+1
I'm definitely with you on this one @Risico007 !!!
Yes, Baz confirmed Seydoux, but also M, Q, Moneypenny returns. Though not Tanner, but I suspect if the others are all back, Tanner will also have a spot.
The 00 program doesn't run itself! ;)
And I'm thrilled to hear Alex Witt is returning. He's as much a key contributor to defining the action of the Craig era as anyone. The film's action scenes will be in safe hands -- and after the (surprisingly) lukewarm reception to some of SPECTRE's flagship sequences in the Rome and Alpine chases, I'd bet there's an appetite to ensure B25's action takes things back up a notch.
Alex Witt is excellent and his return might suggest the action will be gritty, punchy, bloody and sweaty like CR. A style which suits Craig's Bond.
Thanks Colonel. I appreciate your suggestions of what the film may look like as we know you have greater insight into the actual process of a Bond film. I am happy to hear the crew is coming together. I do hope we learn the composer at the Press Conference next year but have a feeling we won't until later
We can only hope. It would definitely bring the series back with a bang, plus it would suit Daniel's Bond and bring the best out of him
Same news outlet who reported Alexander Witts return is confirming filming in Norway with Bknd receiving Tax Incentives. However if you read the article no actual confirmation
