Agree. Make it a good scene with clever dialogue, and that's more than enough.
Wow. We actually agree on something. Kudos.
He starred in Foyle's War between 2002 and 2015 – the WW2 crime drama created by Bond continuity writer Anthony Horowitz. Other than that, he seems to have played in various TV series and movies over the last decade.
Oh, I see. Thanks, my friend. And good for him, probably gave him more stability. Good actor, he is.
He's a fantastic actor, and just as brilliant in Foyle's War. Well worth a watch; some episodes have a spy angle too.
I still think that Anthony Horowitz should adapt both Trigger Mortis and Forever and a Day for the next James Bond. Film them back to back, set them in the modern day, and keep Ralph Fiennes as M. As Sir Miles this time please, EON. Also no Purvis and Wade! And keep the stories faithful to their original books.
Wow you knew they were writing an account on B25 already, Interesting!
My copy just arrived this past week. Regarding that particular topic, I'd suggest keeping your expectations low.
The bits of the book I've managed to get through so far, though, are spectacular. The SPECTRE chapter, in particular, blew my mind. Lots of new/previously unpublished quotes directly from John Logan and Mendes about the various incarnations of the story, including one that leaned heavily on the return of one rather famous watercraft in Bondian lore.
Especially given all that's happened this year with the Boyle situation, I'm absolutely hoping they update it again and detail what will (ultimately) be the key differences between the B25 that's released and Boyle's intended version. Presumably, I'd imagine, the differences he 'quit' over.
Your brash nature in most of your comments reminds me of a cerain US president
Anthony Horowitz would no doubt be able to write a great script. As he's so heavily involved with the character already, jumping from the novel format to the screenplay format would surely be no issue for him!
And then less than a year until Bond 25 is released and we can finally discuss what comes next. Exciting times.
Yes!
Some Kind Of Hero is a book all Bond fans should read.
Definitely on my list! Will wait for an edition that includes the Bond 25 production, I think.
Rocksteady announcing the super secret project they were working on is a James Bond video game starring Daniel Craig as 007 and taking place between quantum and Skyfall
The title to be announced. To be honest I am still sweet on The Hildebrand Rarity in spite of me believing we will never get it after Quantum’s title controversy (if only the dictionary was invented before 2008 so people could learn words they didn’t know... sigh)
And David Arnold is back doing the score
I get that I am happy
I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve never heard of this book; it looks incredible, I ordered it.
Now if it only came with a bonus DVD of all screentest. ;)
Exactly right!
I had, until recently, thought that books on Bond couldn't get any better than "James Bond The Legacy", but some good members here were keen to point out that I was mistaken. Taking their advice seriously, I immediately ordered SKOH. Oh boy... I can't believe I was about to miss out on this jewel. This is our bible, folks!
Good to know, thanks Dimi. And how about Man With the Golden Eye from Peter Lamont? I want to buy that as well, can anyone recommend that too?
@00Agent
That one I can most definitely recommend you buy as well. Thanks to this forum, I was able to get a copy signed by the man himself!
Oh that is nice! I will probably buy that one next, as it seems out of print and you can only get it on ebay. Thanks for the recommendation.
Craig’s Bond/the Ian Fleming Bond has always been an unconventional hero; one who doesn’t contain stereotypical heroic traits. Craig has portrayed this throughout all of his films, especially in CR.
The title completely embodies Craig’s 007; he’s not a hero, hero so to speak, but he is some kind of hero.
Plus this would finally break the one word titles!
I’d be ecstatic if we got a new video game. 8 years later & I’m still playing Bloodstone on my old PS3.
Probably a point served best for another thread, but I've got some theories about how they could (or should be) using that gap to their advantage...
...and your wish list isn't that far off, @Risico007 :)
