It would be a miracle if Waltz was invited back.

What makes you say that? Was EON not pleased with his performance?

It was a mutual disappointment with how the character turned out, I think.

This is why I believe Shatterhand won't be the final title. You can't do it without Waltz. And the Malek rumours definitely don't support that.

And if the story of YOLT was changed so that Blofeld wasn't Shatterhand, I don't think fans would be very happy.

I have no idea what they thought about his performance.

I just know he was not a very respectful guest in the EoN house.

I suppose if the story really begged for him to return, he will be back-- but I seriously doubt it (unless in flashbacks, but even then, I seriously doubt it)

That surprises me. He spoke so highly of EON and Barbara and Micheal. He is a very convincing liar or oblivious to his offence.

I could be wrong and Blofeld will make a return in B25, however--

I heard he was a shit on the set, so my belief is: if he's back, he plays a very minor role (unless EoN is fooling everyone), or; Blofeld will not be in B25 at all.

Not knowing anything about the upcoming story, I still would bet on the latter.

That's disappointing for an actor of his prestige and caliber. Oh well onwards and upwards. Perhaps with Malek they will get ahead of the game with a great actor playing a villian. Lately they have cast individuals already known for playing villainous characters

Also did anyone else note Baz's presence yesterday. Might this Thursday come with a scoop from Daniel, Wishaw or Malek? Just a thought

In Waltz' defence, the Spectre set was not the best set to be on at times. There was intense pressure on the production after the Sony leaks and when you throw a blindingly subpar script into the mix it only makes things worse. The point still stands that he is a professional and should act as such, but he's also only human. I don't have a lot against him after Spectre. He could have turned in another Oscar-worthy performance and it wouldn't change the film one damn bit.

As @peter said, if he is to make any sort of appearance, the odds are that it'd be fleeting.

I'm falling down the middle with Malek at the moment. I wouldn't be over the moon with him being cast but I'd have enough trust and patience to see what happens if he were to jump on.

Regarding Waltz, shades of Jesper Christensen not returning as Mr. White after Quantum of Solace.

Waltz is certainly capable of an oscar worthy performance as blofeld, but that’s not what we got.

Good. Good. Keep the agent under fire. As if he didn't have enough problems. ;)

Aha I see what you did there! I'm hoping that Waltz at least gets a surprise appearance, as Blofeld is still alive.

It's sad to hear, but it may explain why he also isn't in Quentin Tarantino's last two movies. Maybe their egos clashed.

Willem Dafoe needs to play a Bond villain soon. That man was born for the role. He literally looks like a villain in real life.

If there was any doubt (for some reason), Idris Elba has stated that he will not be James Bond. “It’s not gonna happen. Just putting it out there.”

Perhaps not Bond, but a...Rogue Agent?

Whatever he said, can't be as bad as "I'd rather slash my wrists than do this again". EON seem pretty forgiving.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but it's the first I've seen of it. Rami Malek at some point rumoured to be a villain?

There is no way they could make Shatterhand the title of Bond 25 without Christoph Waltz, which would mean that Malek would be reduced to a supporting villain role. And I'm sorry, but no amount of DAF surgery could turn Christoph Waltz into Rami Malek.

In my opinion, I don't think Shatterhand is the working title. It's probably just some fake news some heard after Spectre, and thought that the title for the next film would be Shatterhand. Let's be honest, most users on here suggested Shatterhand as a title before Spectre even came out so I doubt this news very much.

    It is.

But how do we know for sure?

I truly hope you are wrong. Obviously my dream scenario would be the great Christopher Nolan and the great Emma Thomas taking over the reins, but I could name DOSENS of producers who would do a better job at producing Bond movies than the team made up of Barabra Broccoli and Gregg Wilson would.

What on earth is a Dosen Producer?
Dosen is the German word for cans.

So there are really dozens of canned producers out there. Figured ;)

Only when the output from EON is subpar, as it has been of late.

He wouldn´t be the only Actor in a Bond film being directed poorly by Mendes.

Personally I am hoping for a fresh story, without Shatterhand, Blofeld, any of that. Completes this Bond's story arc, yes, so there will be some connections. But hoping for more of a passing mention on the side or background perhaps, not the main story - obviously Madeleine is in it, but I hope briefly. I do want Naomie and Ben in it. Would be happy for Jeffrey's Felix to return. But not at all excited about Malek as a villain. Just patiently waiting for some more solid casting news. Good director (I trust his storytelling and visual style) and good cinematographer on board. So step by step ... waiting patiently.
