Six actually. It's not really a valid comparison for a few reasons. Those films don't really rely on their title as a major marketing point. In fact, they've only started to add on a secondary title since GP. In a way, they've become a bit more inventive by tacking that on for the last 3 films. Sure beats MI:"#" only.
With the Bond films it's been a tradition to have inventive and interesting titles. I've always looked forward to them since I was a kid, even prior to knowing about the books. So expectations are a bit different in this case. It's the same thing with the title songs, which are normally memorable and a big deal.
I suppose they could consider going with James Bond "#": "Sub - Title" in the future, but I'd prefer they don't.
Somehow I have this hunch what we'll be getting is another Purvis and Wade original story.
I'm not sure how I feel about it, really. I was never sold on the concept that SPECTRE was the OHMSS of the modern era. To me, it doesn't even remotely compare. Madeleine is certainly no Tracy, IMO. I suppose that doesn't mater regardless since she's returning anyway.
True, very true.
Chances are it's an original story with Madeleine included just so Bond isn't shown to be sleeping about in a #MeToo era. I think they probably want to dodge that bullet until the passions subside.
That is another possibility. But I think it is extremely unlikely they will go down that route.
Well, Waltz after the release of SP said that he would like to come back only in a Craig Bond scenario. Then, in October 2017 said that he won't be back even if he would like to: "No, I'm sorry. I'm really sad, but that's the tradition, that there is a new… name,” he told the publication while attending a red carpet event. “Sorry. I would've liked to.”
Also, Fukunaga in a recent interview didn't rule I'm out. If EoN wants him back, he will definitely return. His last four movies after SP were all box-office and critical failures, so he would certainly like the idea to star in a movie like "Craig's last Bond". We'll see.
I feel that Waltz had issues with Mendes during the production of SP, and so did Craig based on some rumours. I also don't see any problems having both a "Rami Malek" villain and Blofeld. In SP there where three...
I would be disappointed. I don't pretend a proper adaptation, but at least bringing some elements into the film.
BTW if i recall correctly the first rumor about the title being Shatterhand came from the Mirror in July 2017, even before Craig was confirmed in the role.

In the article they mentioned that the movie would take inspiration from both OHMSS (Madeleine's death?), YOLT and Never Dream of Dying. They also reported that Waltz and Batista could be back, plus Croatia, French Riviera and Egypt (Malek's parents are egyptian, just saying) as filming locations. Then, Production Weekly reported Bond 25 placeholder being Shatterhand, so it's being confirmed official.
Perhaps the Mirror scoop had some truth in it?
Given all the iterations and people who worked on the script - P&W, Hodge, Boyle, Haggis, Fukunaga - I don't think the title is going to be Shatterhand, but IF it actually happens I'd be fine with it. Sounds bondian, is Fleming material, and would be the first title to use the name of a villain since 55 years (since Octopussy is not a villain).
Technically since Quantum is the enemy of Quantum of Solace and Spectre is the enemy of Spectre well yeah
Edit: "... and would be the first title to use the name of a villain since 55 years (since Octopussy is not a villain and Quantum and Spectre are organisations codenames).
A short video of Rachel and Daniel arriving at the Golden Globes.
I just don't think youthful villains work well in Bond movies, especially against a more mature Bond.
Depends on the screenplay
What a great, great, great game that was. Such a shame that they didn't have a chance to pump out a couple of sequels on the same engine.
B25-related: Probably very unlikely, could they call it Everything or Nothing? It's already been the game. And that documentary. So I guess not. Answered my own question.
I would like the books outside of Fleming to get some attention. And not just Colonel Sun. The Union Trilogy should be for another Bond actor in a story arc for them. Thanks a lot Purvis and Wade!
At one point, the script had a henchwoman named Irma Bunt and it ended with Bond saying "we have all the time in the world." So it was on the mind of the writers, even if neither appeared in the final film.
That actually would have been the second to last line. The final line would have been me screaming obscenities at the theater screen.
Errrr no! That's me!!!!!! Lol!
Speaking of which, EA’s The Godfather uses exactly the same engine or at least a similar one with very identical gameplay mechanics. I suppose an ambitious team of mods could port EA’s last two games to other platforms with enhanced graphics.
Interesting! I don't remember that development. Is there a link to an article or something showing screens from those concepts when they were intended for Broz?
