Waltz wasn't especially memorable to me in SP, but he was far from the worst performer in that film in my opinion. So even though I thought he was disappointing, if they are planning on bringing back elements from that earlier film, then his inclusion would be fine with me. He is a skilled and charismatic enough actor that he can deliver if required, and he seems to want to based on some his remarks.

Don't know why, but three "S" titles in a row irritates me soooo much…

That's nothing. The Mission: Impossible films have had seven "M" titles in a row. Seven!
Six actually. It's not really a valid comparison for a few reasons. Those films don't really rely on their title as a major marketing point. In fact, they've only started to add on a secondary title since GP. In a way, they've become a bit more inventive by tacking that on for the last 3 films. Sure beats MI:"#" only.

With the Bond films it's been a tradition to have inventive and interesting titles. I've always looked forward to them since I was a kid, even prior to knowing about the books. So expectations are a bit different in this case. It's the same thing with the title songs, which are normally memorable and a big deal.

I suppose they could consider going with James Bond "#": "Sub - Title" in the future, but I'd prefer they don't.

Waltz is certainly capable of an oscar worthy performance as blofeld, but that’s not what we got.
He wouldn´t be the only Actor in a Bond film being directed poorly by Mendes.
It’s not that he was poorly directed. The script was awful.

How disappointed would we be if the film turned out to be titled SHATTERHAND, yet the story had nothing whatsoever to do with Fleming's YOLT?

Somehow I have this hunch what we'll be getting is another Purvis and Wade original story.

I hope a more original story for the main part. I don't want a YOLT redo.

I'm not sure how I feel about it, really. I was never sold on the concept that SPECTRE was the OHMSS of the modern era. To me, it doesn't even remotely compare. Madeleine is certainly no Tracy, IMO. I suppose that doesn't mater regardless since she's returning anyway.

I agree. Madeleine is no Tracy.

Chances are it's an original story with Madeleine included just so Bond isn't shown to be sleeping about in a #MeToo era. I think they probably want to dodge that bullet until the passions subside.

My bet is that Madeleine's inclution is of similar character to Dench's in Spectre. She provides some kind of clue to Bond before she either gets killed or leaves him. That is what I would want to happen at least... :P

That is another possibility. But I think it is extremely unlikely they will go down that route.

It would be a miracle if Waltz was invited back.

Well, Waltz after the release of SP said that he would like to come back only in a Craig Bond scenario. Then, in October 2017 said that he won't be back even if he would like to: "No, I'm sorry. I'm really sad, but that's the tradition, that there is a new… name,” he told the publication while attending a red carpet event. “Sorry. I would've liked to.”

Also, Fukunaga in a recent interview didn't rule I'm out. If EoN wants him back, he will definitely return. His last four movies after SP were all box-office and critical failures, so he would certainly like the idea to star in a movie like "Craig's last Bond". We'll see.
I feel that Waltz had issues with Mendes during the production of SP, and so did Craig based on some rumours. I also don't see any problems having both a "Rami Malek" villain and Blofeld. In SP there where three...

I would be disappointed. I don't pretend a proper adaptation, but at least bringing some elements into the film.

BTW if i recall correctly the first rumor about the title being Shatterhand came from the Mirror in July 2017, even before Craig was confirmed in the role.

    https://screenrant.com/james-bond-25-title-villain-blind/

In the article they mentioned that the movie would take inspiration from both OHMSS (Madeleine's death?), YOLT and Never Dream of Dying. They also reported that Waltz and Batista could be back, plus Croatia, French Riviera and Egypt (Malek's parents are egyptian, just saying) as filming locations. Then, Production Weekly reported Bond 25 placeholder being Shatterhand, so it's being confirmed official.

Perhaps the Mirror scoop had some truth in it?

Given all the iterations and people who worked on the script - P&W, Hodge, Boyle, Haggis, Fukunaga - I don't think the title is going to be Shatterhand, but IF it actually happens I'd be fine with it. Sounds bondian, is Fleming material, and would be the first title to use the name of a villain since 55 years (since Octopussy is not a villain).

I wonder if we'll get an actor impersonating Trump in a minor villainous role. A bit like FYEO with Maggie. obviously Maggie wasn't cast in a villainous light in that film .

I think it all depends on the character, on who the villain is supposed to be. Malek would be a Dominic Greene type: slimy.

I just don't think youthful villains work well in Bond movies, especially against a more mature Bond.

A physically imposing villain would be better imho. We had that in CR & SF (they were a match for Craig and then some) and the films were the better for it. Craig is a physical Bond and I think he works better with someone of similar stature, even if they don't have physical combat (he's only fought one big bad - Greene - in his tenure so far).

Willem Dafoe needs to play a Bond villain soon. That man was born for the role. He literally looks like a villain in real life.

    Skip the first 15 seconds.

What a great, great, great game that was. Such a shame that they didn't have a chance to pump out a couple of sequels on the same engine.

B25-related: Probably very unlikely, could they call it Everything or Nothing? It's already been the game. And that documentary. So I guess not. Answered my own question.

I would like the books outside of Fleming to get some attention. And not just Colonel Sun. The Union Trilogy should be for another Bond actor in a story arc for them. Thanks a lot Purvis and Wade!

That actually would have been the second to last line. The final line would have been me screaming obscenities at the theater screen.

The thing is, it could have been done and could still be done. EA was planning a follow-up to EoN with Brosnan as Bond under the working title ‘Bond6’, only to scrap it when the actor’s stepping down from the role was announced. Concepts for the first level planned for the game was used for both From Russia With Love and Blood Stone.

Speaking of which, EA’s The Godfather uses exactly the same engine or at least a similar one with very identical gameplay mechanics. I suppose an ambitious team of mods could port EA’s last two games to other platforms with enhanced graphics.

Interesting! I don't remember that development. Is there a link to an article or something showing screens from those concepts when they were intended for Broz?

I did like Hinx. But, I thought he had far more potential than just to portray a generic giant muscleman overpowering Bond. He had a great investigative and intellectual side to him, too, which made him more of an operative and less of a henchman. Such a waste of great concept and talent.
