My impression is that the only Emma Stone film people here have seen is Superbad and perhaps Easy-A. Which really isn't that surprising...

Same here. Nothing about her says Bond girl, IMO.
If she really is cast, she obviously won't play one of the traditional Bond girl roles (love interest or femme fatale). By the way, I have been predicting for a long time that with Madeleine returning, Bond 25 won't have a traditional Bond girl.

What's left then? Would hate for Bond having to drag around with her as some sort of sidekick?

Sorry, couldn't resist a patented Stone meme.

If she's cast, the least she can do is give us a classic from the film to post for posterity. She's a master.

I'll post another one. Just because.

I've seen her in other roles (unavoidable, as she's everywhere at the moment…). Still can't see what the fuzz about her acting is about. It's OK, but nothing more, IMO.

I've seen her in The Amazing Spiderman movies. She was the best part. Her Gwen Stacy is better written and portrayed than Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane.

So gathering my thoughts together, I definitely think Dakota Johnson has more merit than Emma Stone. I believe the rumours of Stone have stemmed from her work with crew members that are working on Bond 25. She was in Maniac, with Fukunaga, and La La Land's cinematographer was Linus Sandgren.

As for Dakota Johnson, she has yet to work with either of these guys, so her casting is way more plausible, and after seeing her Suspiria, I wouldn't mind. Actually thinking of Suspiria, can we get Giulia Piersanti to be the costume designer? Her designs are simple, regionally appropriate and gorgeous.

I'm afraid the genie is out of the bottle. Had Emma Stone and Dakota Johnson not been cast, Barbara Broccoli now will have to cast them. She has no choice!

You’re ignoring the fact that both of them are already working or will soon begin working on other projects. They won’t have time to do B25.

Emma Stone will finish working on Zombieland 2 in maximum 3 months. She would have plenty of time to work on Bond 25.

Could we be sane for a moment and discuss the real news here?

Rehearsals start tomorrow at Pinewood, where sets are already built!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and the scouting crew is at Jamaica!

Aren't those reasons to rejoice and talk about?
    Real reasons?

I've written this previously, but cast, composer and costume designer are the most important things for me. So I anxiously await news on that front. What I've heard confirmed to date of cast leaves quite a lot to be desired.

None of that is a rumour. It's all fact. Although, we don't know what the scouting party is doing in Jamaica. The rest of it is quite true, as reported by archivo007, a quite reliable source.

They are referencing the same article...

Really looking forward to more news about this as well. Composer most of all, given that we have a different director now.

Exactly :D she'd be great haha, I'd love to see a Bond girl wearing a coat like the one Mia Goth is wearing above.

Anyone remember when the composer gets announced in relation to other announcements?

These are the news I want to know about as well. Particularly the composer. But I do believe the news of Stone and Dakota being involved to be highly exaggerated. Borderline untrue.

@Denbigh, I agree with your logic that Johnson probably has a better shot at being cast than Stone, and I'd be fine with her in the film. Perhaps one is deliberate misdirection and the other a real possibility? Having said that, I'm still quite skeptical about either choices actually making the cut.

What do I know though? I would never have guessed that anyone at EON would have decided voluntarily to bring Seydoux back.

RE: Giulia Piersanti, I'm not familiar with her at all and have not seen Suspira. I will seek that film out soon though, based on your recommendation. She also did A Bigger Splash and Call Me By Your Name (I've seen this one, but recall it being a few guys hanging around in casuals mostly)

That is rather exciting!! I wonder what set pieces have been built and if there are any major ones that will start filming soon.

If I recall both Skyfall and Spectre had major set pieces, the tube explosion and the bridge crash which were built as large scale models at Pinewood. Just something to discuss and debate.

Also I am very excited about a return to the Caribbean. The Jamaica location will be great.

I bet M's office is already there. And many other stuff we don't know about. Where are the real spies when we need them? ;)

I would stake money at William Hill that there will be at least one if not two major action set pieces they film using major sets and models. Seems like they dont want the over exposure Spectres action had prior to the films release.

People tend to be very critical of studio work, but as far as Bond films are concerned, there is an artistry to it. Beautiful, gigantic, exotic sets have always been a part of the series. Ken Adam made a career of using his designs in doors. So I bet, like you, there will be gorgeous sets made already in the bowls of Pinewood.

The question is: who designed them? Mark Tildesley or Dennis Gassner?

I think it depends on how much of the Boyle idea they have kept. Wasn't there a rumour sets were already being built for action pieces? Perhaps those were dismantled and stored.
