If filming is still on track, my prediction is February 28.

Hollywood is full of tangled webs, but it's worth mentioning that DC just finished working with Dakota's dad on Knives Out. Were they talking?

Don Johnson would make a really interesting Bond villain. He's an underrated actor.

Should have cast him in LTK

I think the ghost of Miami Vice hangs pretty heavy over LTK . . . Don Johnson's basically an uncredited producer on that one.
  • To B25: I feel fairly confident in predicting that it won't be called 'Risico.' It fails the "License Revoked" test, for me. It doesn't translate well, it's 'cool' to devout Bond fans but meaningless to everyone else, and it's hard to spell and pronounce.

Don probably would have gotten them to clean up the style a bit at least (or at least Tim's hairdo).

This guy mixed up his dates. No, not Sandgren, the other fella.
How can you mix up March and April?
    If you work for Collider.

Italian tourist boards report that Bond 25 will shoot in Matera and Gravina in spring/summer; Lea Seydoux will shoot another film later this year

Looks like a wedding location to me.

  • United Artists returns! That is really cool news. Nice update to the logo as well.

One thing is certain: the March 4th start date clearly referred to the when the main unit would begin filming. So if the main unit won’t start filming in 27 days, then there is a delay, no matter how the Barbara Broccoli acolytes will try to spin it.

We should probably boycott the film.
After I read the leaked script of Spectre, I knew it was going to be awful. I still watched it. At home. Only once. It’s pretty much impossible Bond 25 will be worse than Spectre.

This is me with Nolan directing. Watching it at home. Only once.

Disappointed with the (rumoured) location choices. The fact that Bond might go to Italy again just bores me. Was hoping for some more edgy location choices. China, Turkey, Bolivia, Montenegro, Prague were all excellent choices.
Would you have preferred if Bond went to Bangladesh or Zimbabwe, instead?

Italy always works in a Bond film, even the weaker entries like MR and SP. With apologies to Jamaica, it's the unofficial reigning exotic location for Bond.

Greece is the interesting rumor to me. Has Babs been sleeping with the Colonel Sun novel on her nightstand?

    25th film...call it Quarterdeck.

I missed the presence of the UA logo (as minor as it is) at the beginning of a Bond film.

No arguments from me, old boy. Except for MR being weak, but that's another story.

I find it laughable that people want non-glamorous locations for Bond films when exotic locales are part of what made the Bond franchise great. Otherwise, it wouldn't hurt to go and watch a boring Bourne film in the stead of it. Italy might be repetitive, but the country is damn beautiful. One of Europe's best in that regard, if not the best.

I honestly don’t see any harm in production starting in April rather than March. We’re getting a new Bond movie with Craig for Feb 2020. Everyone needs to chill out and enjoy the ride!
Trust me, I was enjoying the ride a lot up until the visionary Danny Boyle was suddenly fired. Barbara Broccoli robbing the world from a Danny Boyle Bond film made it very difficult for me to enjoy the ride.

If there will be positive news coming from the press conference (Fukunaga getting a writing credit, Mark Tildesley still being on board, the announcement of a composer NOT called David Arnold, Bond 25 designed as being Craig's final Bond film etc.) then I will start enjoying the ride again.

Have you completely ignored the fact that Boyle's script was apparently terrible and not a Bond film? Barbara Broccoli getting rid of a Danny Boyle Bond film is reassuring us that Bond 25 is a Bond film and not some art film.
From the very people who run this site:

Have to say, I agree with the old rooster here. I think we were in for something unique and interesting with Boyle. Cary is a good pick as well, but Boyle being fired suggests to me they don't want to push any boundaries with Bond. On one hand that concerns me because vanilla Bond films aren't appealing to me. On the other hand, I remember the whole Bond's brother idea.

To be fair, it could have worked with excellent writing but the execution was atrocious.

Since the March 4th start date is no more certain, I can’t even do my countdown anymore. :( I wish EON gave us the tiniest bit of official update.

    Really don't like that cartoon.

The photo looks like a fab location. I'm all for Greece and Italy. But most excited for Norway. :)

The main shooting will be later, but location shots always begin early, right? I'm not concerned about the filming schedule.

Happy Boyle is off the boil, or onto his own new boil. ;) I am more than pleased that Cary is the director. I think the script will be fine because he is a good storyteller and writer.

No, I don't want Madeline betraying Bond; geez. No matter how dramatic - putting her at head of Spectre, etc. We may get something twisted like that, but I hope not. I actually hope the script surprises us a bit. I expect it to have some rather traditional Bond elements (look at the locations for one thing; that's going great). I want Naomie in it more. I want a satisfying ending for this Bond (alive and kicking somewhere). It will have darker elements, and psychological ones, I think ... because Cary is great at that. We shall see. I'm not concerned, though.

Back in the day when Sean had quit, we could have gone even MORE ballistically nuts if we had the internet. Not that long ago, with Casino Royale, we were going rather nuts. And Eva was not hired until it started. And Craig turned out to have gravitas and actually acting chops so that he WAS Bond, from the first moment on screen. This series will continue on with Bond 26, so I'm not going to get into too much of a worry over this one. Especially not with this director and lead actor.

    Two things.
•Really excited that Bond will be back at UA. It just feels right seeing the logo before the gunbarrel.

•Did you used to date Barbara Broccoli and she broke it off, Panchito? I'm not overly fond of her either but your comments on her and the "great" Christopher Nolan have gotten beyond irritating.

    Carry on lol.
